Kid Goats Have Arrived! and the Olight Arkfeld Cat Laser

are you going for a little nap are you Are you going for a little nap oh get out of the bowl just don't poop in there [Music] welcome to the Dead Woods mark here my wife Tara and uh Sunny and we have babies in the barn if you've seen the short video that I posted earlier this week uh we have a couple kids that uh have kitted out or a couple mamas that have kitted out and we're going to head in and check them out uh we have Tucker is out here so we opened this area up you can see the other ones are just kind of peeking out here there's Sheldon so we opened this area up and Tucker's right out there hi buddy oh yes there's grass there's spring grass i'm going in the building come on good morning kids [Applause] ponies are ready for breakfast so we've been watching the forecast and watching warmer weather numbers show up on that forecast and then of course you wait a day or two and the numbers slowly diminish and go down but it's uh it's it's getting there so you know this is a time of year and I think uh it's like this in a lot of places where spring is just kind of holding out on us and winter is kind of hanging on so we'll get there we'll get there good morning Levi and Meadow and Astrid astrid's usually back a little further so she's she's coming up closer and it's funny we uh we snuck a peak of Meadow and Astrid uh scratching each other so they'll often go kind of head to head and the one will scratch the neck of the other while the other one scratches the other's neck and the girls have been you know they've been a little off you know kind of pushing for dominance levi is kind of stuck in the middle uh but we saw the other day that the two girls were actually uh scratching each other so it's it's taken a little bit but Astrid's uh winning Meadow over I guess you could [Applause] say and she's right up usually she's back further so she's she's coming right up there's still going to be you know some some little bats here and there but but they're doing well our own little mini herd right yeah good girl Meadow yeah and these guys are going to be probably going out next week yeah get them outside out in the sun oh Charlie's looking dirty silly boy [Laughter] i think I love you oh Charlie he's like "What do you got what do you got you look dirty you need a bath." He's very dirty yeah all of my fingers silly girl yes girl there's your girl Charlie okay there we go they're all [Laughter] watered we'll see how things go uh in the next couple days get them outside [Applause] yeah bye Charlie bye Charlie hi Coco hi Patunia what do you got over there in the corner are you a proud mama yeah looks like they're huddled there in the corner getting comfy so we've got two there this is Holly holly's in here and you girls are back in here yeah waiting for food well it looks like Penny is sitting on those eggs we uh we saw last week so there were eight of them in there so looks like she finally decided to sit on them oh they're all waiting for food is that for me the bowl's full so the white the white one's a girl right white one's a girl and the darker one a light brown which is an interesting color i don't think we've seen a Maria said two don't think we've seen Yeah a light brown so we'll go in there and have a look at them in a minute so in the short video last week there were three kids so there was the two and then there was Moana's one uh Moana's one was very weak uh in the video and you may have noticed that uh we took that little kid goat inside uh because it was cold and it we were just really concerned with it unfortunately it did pass away so it was a little boy and we tried to bring the temperature up and it was just it was very weak and sometimes these things happen so unfortunately we did lose that one little boy so but we've got these two uh we put Moana back outside uh because she doesn't need to be in here and then we're waiting for these other ones to have their kids and we'll see how that goes so uh on the 2nd which would have been I think last Tuesday was the 150day mark and that's when the three kids were born so they were right on time uh usually we wait it should be plus or minus 5 10 days uh so we're going to wait 2 weeks right yeah so he was in so Billy of course was in with the girls for 2 weeks so that 150 days could be you know 150 days from this Tuesday right so it all depends on how Billy did um so we'll have to wait and see and the little bunnies are getting bigger and bigger there they go look at that fluffy one oh get out of the bowl just don't poop in there yeah so there's uh what do we got three three really fluffy ones i guess they get that from mom and of course the coloring is from dad so they're they're getting pretty [Music] big and because of uh how tight it is in here and the amount of room uh these rabbits have been moved out here temporarily so they've got their own little apartment they're actually doing pretty good in their pairs and Pety and Piper's breakfast so we got that down what you want more always want more don't you yeah yeah there we go hey yep there you go Coco [Laughter] still finishing up some grains and then they'll go over to the the hay is that not good enough Coco she says "I like the other I like the other stuff Mommy." Patunia is getting right in there okay all right eat your spot let the other ones in oh somebody's grumpy this morning well sheep pushing his butt go over there hold on a big mouthful he takes a big mouthful of hers yeah and then goes down to his kitty okay here we go are you going for a little nap are you Are you going for a little nap hi Yeah so yeah that's the little boy and this is the little girl are you eating solids you just tasting things there we go there we go oh underneath now the important thing is to handle these guys regularly so they know the humans are their friends and they don't get really skittish see yeah and the other thing is we want to make sure uh cuz you do run into it quite a bit is uh parasites so little mites and such uh so we periodically check them especially around the ear just around the neck here uh they can get little parasites and uh we want to keep on that because of course they can uh suck their blood and drain their body of energy so we want to watch for that and we usually treat with you can use fireplace ashes or doommacous earth uh works well and it's basically you're just powdering the uh the outer coat and you're drying out and dehydrating the little bugs once a season though especially coming out of winter we will do the vetil yes because it's all the mites and lice are coming from the hay yeah so we've already done the vetilize once right okay you went down before the babies are born and then 10 days later and later yeah so the mamas have already been done with vetilize so we're kind of doing everything we can to minimize any u but you always want to keep an eye on Do you have uh Noles no no waddles for this one so um probably about 50% of the time you'll get these little dangly things that come out underneath the neck uh little waddles they don't do anything they were probably glands at one point in evolution uh but they just don't really do anything so we'll put this one down grab the other one so here is the little girl do you have You don't have waddles either uh mom doesn't yeah mom doesn't coco I believe yeah Coco does patunia doesn't but it's a kind of a hit and a miss so this is the little girl yes and they're very active they're doing very well yeah where's your mom's right there she's she's eating yeah she's [Music] eating so again it's just good to get in here hold them good for them but it's also good for people as well because they're just so cute to hang on to yes aren't you it just gets them friendlier more more human contact also depends on who their moms are yeah some of the moms are uh they can transfer that energy to their kids uh Patunia is what she's right there okay patunia is a really good mom and she uh she's very friendly as well so yeah yeah she's right there yeah yeah she's okay need milk pacifier time for milk she's like "Yeah pacifier." Yeah oh there we go yes what about you are you going to Yeah mom's like "Okay I'll check you out." Sometimes they'll she'll give them a nudge just kind of push them over and say "Here milk." But bellies are good so that's another thing we want to watch for is make sure there's bellies good bellies yeah so there are the new kids so far so far the pigs are out i was in there with the kids i guess time flies when you're cuddling kid goats ter's just checking for eggs no eggs this morning i got to give them some new hay though okay they like their fresh hay in the No eggs this morning so they'll probably all come in the afternoon don't let anybody out I said oh sorry i was focused on Come on girls and I was focused on going out and checking on the animals i didn't hear you okay we'll stick with it a new hay that's a lot of hay eat it oh sorry sweetie when I pushed her out I felt an egg in her back hand oh really sorry she's I'm just trying to lay one here what are you doing to me sorry get in there sorry tuck in she's got a big bulge right there a big hard bulge right in her butt oh boy okay and yeah these guys have all got their hay okay so yeah the kids are out here the sheep pigs everybody's tucked in and Shimmer our newest one so she's uh doing well hi Sheldon oh what's that what's mommy got and she's already giving you some hay looks like Shimmer's Shimmer's got it over there with the winter coat I always lose my pants my sweats oh the weight of my knife and everything in my pockets i end up The more weight I put in my pockets the more I lose my pants well you always wear sweats though i know yeah it's not just winter no it's how much weight I put in them summer's worse i have to tie the waistband tighter i need to wear overalls yeah actually overalls that would be Yeah all those pockets hi monkey do you like shimmer shimmer pretty he likes his door open listen to that it's primarily the pigs here oh you might not the chomping oh we had people over the other hi kids and he was Oh am I standing too close to your I'm standing right on their right on their new Hey like excuse me we're trying to eat here so in case just a reminder who we got so a reminder we got Puff Joey Jazz Little John yeah so those are the three boys there yeah then we have Sable's a fluffier one this one and you got Marion over there yeah marian's over there oh wait this is Eevee not Puff this is Puff's over there puff and Eevee are uh are close in color yeah he's got the broken line now yeah she she although the other goats are kind of standing high see there's the waddles right there that is um Joey joey was uh is Holly's Holly's kids right oh that because Moana she hadn't had kids before right so yeah these two are Holly's kids so and if you look so uh Jazz doesn't have the waddles and Joey does so it's it's kind of a hit and miss people always ask they're like "What are those things hanging down?" H nothing just waddles watch those tusks decorations if you keep headbutting with those tusks Pety you're going to almost trim those if he if he had bites I will but he usually he usually runs away yeah the sound of a pig eating okay but look I put canola usually they always lose their hair e but she was getting canola oil throughout the winter to fatten her up right right so next year Pety shut up um next year Pety and Charlie are going to get uh same i've already started him on the canola yeah you can see how he's shed off well I'm just looking at you don't be all grumpy oh boy they do it every year it's just being being in the hay and they also get treated for anything that's out here yeah okay all right everybody's eating everybody's happy oh water there's some outdoor outdoor stuff going on oh look at that that shimmer is uh fitting right in she's starting to headbutt now she's she's comfortable enough i'm debating on when I get her haircut to leave her face leave her some long locks on the side so her hair gets really long well but then it gets dirty and especially when she's eating stuff gets stuck in there hey Tuck charlie he also has uh some shedding of some hair as well you can see you haven't given him canola oil but you are now right yeah they all the they they get the everybody out here because they're in small quarters they all get the lice and the uh treatment just in case um but because they're in the ba the beds and they're not like that's why it just gets uh they lose it every year and then it grows back if there was um sore spots like uh crusty spots on there or whatnot then it could be a type of mage um but this is just hair loss there's no uh uh Sores sores yeah that's it and usually you'd put canola oil right on top of that yeah I'll spray them down with canola oil yeah even that um there's a a cooking spray right which is just basically canola oil in the in the summer when they're outside eating the fresh grasses and everything they get all the natural oils from the grasses and stuff because they're on dry hay they don't have the same uh moisture levels or oil levels in in their in their skin which is why they lose the the hair so I don't have any she has discovered Oh you keep Yes well I'm wearing a different jacket but hang on watch she keeps uh something in her pocket um we've been wanting to uh pick up there's these little treats if you watch the the video from I think it was last weekend the frier had some treats which she always has in her pocket it's a good healthy treat for horses she has horses and I think Terra's been starting to um keep things in her pocket uh some something else i not really sure what so remember the frier yeah so I went over that so what is it you're keeping in your pocket now so I went and picked up the same treats oh you did pick them up that and nobody knows but her right because she's a little So she's she So she knows they're in my pocket that's funny so you did pick them up okay yeah i wasn't sure if you picked them up or if you were using something else yeah no she knows they're in my pocket yeah that's just going to And they're just a rough edge cube right but she knows and nobody else is as soon as she tells everybody else we're done ah yeah you're going to get So she needs to keep it a secret i don't know if that's a good idea cuz Well I said we'll have to set Marlene up with her with her pocket so that cuz she usually hangs with the seniors out back oh that's funny if you tell Turbo you're done yeah she's like "Yep more mommy more." Yeah that's funny she The first day she smelt them oh she did yeah so she's right in there she's like "I know where they are they're right there." Yeah [Laughter] go that's it go eat go eat the hay like everybody else charlie in my what hey Lucifer hey are you out there he's right here so O Light sent us a new flashlight so they haven't sent us anything in a while but uh this is the Arkfeld by Oite and it has a laser on it a green laser it's got three different settings one of them is uh of course the LED a400 lm LED light and the other one is a UV light so and you just switch the little selector switch there uh for each one you've got your uh your flashlight you've got your UV light which you can't really see too much but um what I think we'll use that for is we've seen some videos where people have done Oh my laser's on turn that off some uh they've looked for rocks that only show up under UV light so we might uh play around with that oh and slugs in your garden show up under UV light ah so slug picking will be a lot easier so we'll have to look at uh we'll have to look at that and see how that works so but primarily it's a cat toy and it works really well as you can see from the cats lucifer is the one that just goes berserk over it uh he was the last one there that showed up on camera uh but uh the other ones some some do some not so much uh but uh anyway if you are interested in a flashlight like that an everyday carry I'll put a link down in the description for that now you were also at work and you had a cat in the room that wasn't supposed to be in your room so I have a laser measuring device that uh I can measure rooms and what I usually do with that is I'll go into an inspection and it just actually happened last week i went into an area and one of the cats ran in because of course that's what cats do it's like oh it's a closed door i need to know what's on the other side of that the cat runs in and I was like "Don't worry I got this." And I pulled out my laser measuring and shot it on the on the ground and the cat just was like "What is that?" and I zoomed it back in the house so they were pretty impressed with that says "I know i have nine black cats at home i know how to wrangle them." Okay so the birdhouse so uh we've been going on uh for the past couple weeks and thinking about the uh the little pedestal there the the dowel for them to sit on so I put that on yesterday and of course if you haven't been watching you're new to the channel I have a RioLink doorbell camera mounted to the top inside there so we'll be able to actually see what's going on uh it's all wired up i'll hook up a charger or a extension cord onto the base of it to keep it charged and I think we'll probably put that up this week we also have the bird feeders we can put up at the same time to bring them in yes so so we have a couple bird feeders as well with cameras built on so we'll have to try those out as well and we'll see what kind of footage we can get from the wildlife cuz there's the new one vin guy yeah so we got sent one and then somebody sent us another one so we'll put that might as well throw them both up and then we'll uh home tweet home yeah which I now have on my front of my house yeah i don't know if did I show that on the last I can't remember what home sweet home i'll have to show you that but we can put the feeders up close to it too which hope you bring them in yeah yeah yeah yeah so on the front of the house Terra went and she found a sale on these please don't let the cat out no matter what it tells you and that's primarily for Kota okay but it's on the inside and the outside yeah and the outside as well so it's out here too so she picked up a number of them uh so here we go home tweet home so I did that on the laser engraver and then just sprayed it with a gloss paint uh so it's got uh got a nice gloss to it so there we go there is our home tweet home come on treat time i thought we'd take this opportunity to uh give the cats some treats this morning i know there you go look yes the princess ria and we have Zora oh Toby tobyy's getting the ones that fall yeah and then we've got a couple empty spots lucifer was down there but he's down there here's Nyx lucifer nyx is the one that tries to sneak up on the counter as much as possible and then of course Lucifer hey I saw Aeros aeros was down below as well these two eat it so fast yeah no they're they don't mess around can you back up there you go there you go where's Lucifer he's down there lucifer oh that's that's not Lucifer that's Well Aeros is down there as well lucifer was cleaning himself down on the floor oh there he is lucifer zory's like I I'll just uh move over i'll just move over here there's more there's Lucifer down there come on up he's looking for the laser he's like "No no I'm on call i must find the light so Zorya did move over to the next one she's like "Yeah I'll take advantage of this."
