Wyoming's Forgotten Cow Creek Ranch

out here in the desolation of wyoming i think i just found the cow creek ranch while exploring a remote dirt road in wyoming's red desert where pronghorn antelope are more prevalent than people i came across the long forgotten cow creek ranch numerous phone calls and internet searches yielded no information about the history of this place my guess is that it was established around 1900 and was active into the 1970s if you know anything about this place please share it in the comments let's have a look around looks like this might have been an old garage it's obviously crumbling and falling down now but it had some pretty good construction in these uh rock walls right here but they are slowly deteriorating rock and adobe mud there looks like someone later went over it with some cement a view from the back let's walk inside this and see what we can find okay so this looks like this was probably somebody's house watch your step or you'll fall in there so you can get some maybe it was a pantry in here and uh this could have been the living room possibly this thing is really deteriorating looks like this was the bedroom and there's some mattress springs right there the only residents seem to be crows that might be nesting up in there this looks like a smaller house outside there's an old stove right there we'll go in and get a barbecue right there old paint paint cans and whatever else here huh antifreeze looks relatively new chairs mattresses so this might have been the kitchen yeah and uh i don't know what was back in here let's have a look inside here looks like this was just a storage room here looks like more storage here i don't know what do you guys think was back in over here going in through here it looks like this was another little house not too much left in here i got some beat up old furniture foam pad there were some cupboards back there it looks like there was a wood stove there one time and uh well this is interesting you can climb down there and you know let's see i'm not going down in there but uh maybe you can see what's in there it looks like some sort of root cellar actually got food right there yeah those are some pretty old rusted out cans right there looks like this was a bedroom as was this we'll have a look inside this just a bunch of junk down on the floor this is where they kept some animals they must have had a few horses that trough right there is high enough must be horses a rusted out metal gas can someone must have had a heck of a bean dinner because they blew that outhouse off kilter yep blew it right off its base don't think i've ever seen a triple cedar before yeah i bet they needed that this looks like it was the fancy house let's have a look not so fancy anymore you got some old furniture [Applause] pretty beat up [Applause] and not much in here it's deteriorating fast too let's have a look inside this little log cabin yeah just a beat up old what's left of a sofa anyway yeah some plastic toy that was here piece of it anyway coffee can and just a lot of beer cans that somebody left behind these are the corrals in the back i'm guessing this might have been an old barn possibly or it may have been something else that smokestack is pretty big here's a look inside looks like a couple of truck beds there this was the only water i'd seen anywhere in this region i bet it was a harsh life living out in such a remote area in complete desolation especially in the winter with minus 25 degrees and a -40 wind chill there's our tour guide looks like an old spice tin rusting away i hope you enjoyed exploring this old abandoned ranch with me don't forget to subscribe and hit that notification bell and don't forget to give me a thumbs up like on my videos and share with all your friends and family until next time this is rockhopper i'll see ya [Music] you
