Exploring Universal's Islands of Adventure - Fun Hidden Places, Shopping, and Captain America Diner

Hey guys, this is Jenna with ResortTV1. Today we're here at Universal Studios on the Island's Adventure Side. And we're just going to enjoy the day. I've got an idea. We're going to go check out for lunch. And it's busy here today. It is spring break. So I don't know how much we'll get done. But I'm still excited to go hang out here at Universal Studios. Hope you guys enjoy the video. We're going to head into the Trading Company store. The first store you see to the left as you head in. I want to see if they have any fantastic Beast merch in here. I also heard they have some new mugs. Is this the new mug? It might be. Not sure, but it is cute. Gryffindor. Brave. For $21. It's not a super big mug, but it's cute. I like it. Alright, I found some of the Fantastic Beasts merch here. The new movie comes out really soon, actually. Oh my goodness, look at the cute little Niffler. It's a water bottle. Some of the Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. Oh, what are these guys? I forget what they're called. Boatruckles? They're so cute. Let's see how much it is. $27. This is just a Harry Potter water bottle, but I like that as well. The house is on there. This is Hogwarts. $25. There's those Boatruckles I was talking about. You can get a plushie one or a poseable one. Oh, he's cute. For $15. This one is $30. Here's some new Hogshead merch. Hogsmeade. This is super cool. Look at this. It's like a glass for your Butterbeer or your real beer, whichever. Oh, that's really neat. $17. They also have, you know, the... I always forget what these are called. For your cup. Coaster. I remember last time we were here, I was like, you know, the thing you put your cup on. It's $8. Here's a Hogshead shirt. It has that same emblem there. Let's see if there's anything on the back. Oh yeah, how cool is the back? Okay, that is super cool. This is $30. Alright, here is a Fantastic Beasts shirt. And oh my goodness, I love it. And it is so soft. Wow. There's cute little Niffler. There's some more Nifflers over there. The Bowtruckle. Oh my goodness, I love this shirt. It is $35. It looks like a sleeveless. Yeah. So this is the new movie coming out. Fantastic Beasts Secrets of Dumbledore. Cannot wait to see this movie. But also, oh my goodness, look at the baby Nifflers. Oh my goodness. So cute. There's this one. And this one. Oh my goodness. This one reminds me of my guinea pig that I used to have. They are $18 each. Here's another Fantastic Beasts shirt here. Again, with all those cool little beasts on there. The Niffler. This one is $34. Again, it's very soft. I love it. One more thing I was going to point out that they got in new. Well, not new, but they've been sold out for a while. Now they have them back in. Are the interactive Marauders map. So you've got a wand here. And it interacts with the map. Which is so cool. Let's see, it is $59.95. So $60. Or you can get one that's non-interactive. This one is $49.95. You might as well get the interactive one, I would think. So there's that brave mug again. But they have the other houses. So here is Ravenclaw. Wise. Hufflepuff. Loyal. And I don't see the Slytherin one. Alright, let's head in further to the park. We're going to head back and have some lunch first. Normally we go right towards Harry Potter Land. This is my favorite. But we're going to go left today. I'll show you where we're going to go. Not quite sure what this stage is for. But I've heard they've been having some grad night festivities. This is the new Coke, right? Coca-Cola Starlight. This is a really cool view here. You can see Velocicoaster over there. You can see Hogwarts Castle. And of course, Hulk. So Hulk said it was a 100 minute wait. That's a long wait. I don't do those kind of roller coasters. I do want to try Velocicoaster sometime. But I have done Hulk once. That was it. One time. Never again. Alright, so we are in Marvel area here. Love it. Not in Disneyland though. Marvel. Universal Studios. Orlando. Spider-Man's up here. I love that ride. It's the Doom Drop. There they go. Let's head in here and see what kind of Marvel stuff we can find. We can wear it here or Disney. Two for one. There you go, Mom. Super Mom. Or Super Dad over here. Spider-Man shirt. This is a really cool store. There is Spider-Man back there. Hey Henry. Check out this Captain America mug. It's really neat. Oh, it's like his shield. See, you hold it this way and it's like, woo, shield. $20. I was like, wait, why is it on the front? Now I get it. I also love this Captain America tank top. I have the ears from Disney. It's $35. But it is cute. You can get your own Captain America shield. But it's also a backpack. That's really neat. How much are you? Let's see, it's up here. It's $36.95. Same price as the tank top almost. This is the Spider-Man ride. It is 55 minute wait. We're not going to do that one today. So we're going to head into Toon Lagoon over here. And this was my idea for lunch. I don't know if I have ever eaten in here before. So I thought, let's see what they have. Maybe we'll eat here. We've got Olive Oil and Fanny Boop over here. Hi guys. I am, hello. You guys look great. I love it. Alright, let's head into the Comic Strip Cafe. Not sure what they have in here. So it's going to be a surprise. For all of us. Might not be what we want, but we'll see. It's cute in here. It smells good. They do have burgers, so Josh would eat here. But yeah, let's see. Let's see what's on the menu. There's pizza, burgers, chicken. Chicken Caesar salad. So here's some of the options that they have. Bacon cheeseburger, cheeseburger. Grilled chicken sandwich. There's pizza. They even have ramen. Caesar salad. And of course your sides. They have egg rolls. Dessert. Beverages. Really cool though, they have comics of course. Everywhere. Because it is the Comic Strip Cafe. It makes sense. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. Alright, so I don't think we're going to eat here today. Even though they did have some yummy options. But we are passing over by Marvel. I actually saw a chicken salad. Not Caesar salad. Regular salad that I wanted. So we're going to go back to Marvel. Marvel Super Hero Island is the official name. Of this area. Marvel Land. Whatever you want to call it. But we're going to go over here to this diner. Get some lunch. Hello. Hi. Here we go. Wait, you're leaving your land. Where are you going? So here's the diner we're going to. It's a Captain America diner. We just saw Captain America. Let's go in and check it out. Alright, so we're inside. Check it out. Captain America on the ceiling. Oh wow. But yeah, they have some other options here. Let me zoom in so you can see. This is a really cool restaurant. I don't think I've ever been in here before. It's quick service. Cool seating over here. There's even outdoor seating on the water. We're going to see if we can get one of those seats. Alright, here is my crispy chicken salad. It looks really good. A lot of veggies on there. And then the tortilla chips on top. The screaming over there from the Hulk. Pretty cool. And mom got a bacon cheeseburger. Also looks really good. With french fries. And you could have got this with a milkshake, but you can get it without as well. It's cheaper without. We'll probably get Starbucks later. We don't need a milkshake. But yeah, this looks delicious. Let's dig in and try it. So here is our view as we're enjoying our lunch. This is so cool. There's the Hulk. There's Mythos across the way. Harry Potter. And the Velocicoaster is right here. Maybe that's what we're hearing. I think we're hearing both. Both of the screams. There they go. So cool. Uh oh. Uh oh mom. Oh no. That was cute. So, the salad is good. But it's just really hard to eat. Because the plate is too small for all the salad. So you can tell I've lost like half my salad. Plus, ask for extra dressing. They only give you one pack and then they make you pay for another, which is fine. But then I had to get in line to get another one. So, one ranch. Other than that, it's really good. I like it. You can even see Rip Ride and Rocket across the way there. That's how close it is. Zoom in. It's right on the other side of Seuss Land. So there it goes. So we're back in Toon Lagoon here and definitely look around while you're in here. Got some fun little things all around. Oh no, your boat's sinking. Your boat's sinking. Over here, a good editor never sleeps. Neither does his staff. Oh. Oh, it changes. Even cigars burn down eventually. Oh, funny. Oh, it's funny. I never noticed that that changes. Which is why I feel like yesterday's news. Funny. It flipped again. We've got Kathy's ice cream over here. It looks like soft serve ice cream. There's Locker's back here. Betty Boop. Oh, they're over here meeting and greeting now. Olive Oil. Hi, Betty Boop. Guys, look. This was one of my favorites growing up. The Family Circus. Who else loved this comic? Hope Billy finds his way back here. He will if he read the note I gave him. There he goes again. You had to follow him. On the footsteps. Where did Billy go? Mom, we gotta go find Billy. Alright, follow the steps. Follow the steps. Billy, Billy, where'd you go, Billy? Alright, we're on a mission, but we gotta wait for traffic. Alright, it's our turn. Alright, we're still following Billy. Uh-oh. We gotta go past the cannon. Oh, it got me. Oh, no. Did you go through the water, Billy? Oh, my goodness. Alright, we're just gonna go around it. Mom went way around it. Alright, we're still following Billy, Mom. Come on. Billy, Billy, where'd you go? Oh, you found the doggies. Oh, Billy, you're awesome. Aw, the doggies. He's so cute. Usually, this is a fountain. There's usually water coming from here, I think. Not working today. Okay, Billy went through the fountain. So, here we go. Around this way. Oh, we found Billy, guys. We found him. Here he is. Billy, be sure to mark your trail, Daddy. Mark trail? I wonder what Daddy meant by that. Mark his trail. Mark trail. You can tell that this footprint was left by a familiar creature who loves to wander, is full of curiosity, and never tires of learning the all-American boy. That's the all-American boy trail. I love it. Super cute. These doggies are having a good time over here barking. Carry it on. I know. And then the water we saw was Hagar. Hagar the Greek. I think, right? So, we've got blondies over here. They probably have sandwiches. Yeah, deli, sandwiches, and subs. Could have tried that out. Next time. So, back this way is where the water ride is. The barges, you get super duper wet on here. So, I've only been on this one time. Let's go check out. There's a cool path, hidden path back here. So, here's the cute little the olive. Me ship. Popeye's ship that you can go explore in. But there's also a neat little path back here. So, let's go this way. The check out path. So, you can watch the barges go by. Here they go. You get a good view of the barges, but also over here. So, we kind of got a view of while we were having lunch today. That's where we had lunch. Right there, mom. Alright, so it's a little quieter back here. So, what did you think of lunch? It was good. Theme park hamburgers. Right, and then it was a little cold. I should have taken it back. Yeah, which is weird that it was cold. Because they were so busy. And my salad was good. I don't think I'd get it again. I would probably get the grilled chicken. Because the crispies got a little old after a while. I think I'd ask for two plates and two ranches. You could spread the salad out without it falling off the plate, but not bad. Alright, so let's keep going around the path here. Get a good view of the hulk. There's even the doom drop over there. Guys, look. Instead of a bird house, it's a fish house. That's super cute. Uh oh, we got flying fish crossing over here. High tide, low tide, rip tide. Oh look, they're squirting them up on top of the boat. Oh, that's fun. Guys, we found Plymouth Rock. Look, it even looks like a car. That is super cool. So an amazing view of the VelociCoaster from here. The VelociCoaster. Oh my goodness. So it's fun to find those little hidden things like this. As you can tell, there's nobody back here. Which is amazing. And there's another really cool hidden spot that I found with Mama Mouse a couple weeks ago. So we're going to go check that out next. So every time I've been here, this has been closed. It's been at night time. Let's go see what this is. Oh, got a spinach. Upstairs. Elevator. Oh my goodness. Got a spinach all in here. Holy moly. Don't worry, he's not going to run out. He's got his sock piled. They've got little rope climbing areas. Slide. That's fun. That's what it looks like. There was more upstairs, but that was fun to see. At least the downstairs of it. Alright, let's head out. Alright, so it's back here in Camp Jurassic. So the Pterodactyl... Or is it Pterodon? I don't know. Flyers? That's only if you have a child with you. So you can't ride it unless you have a child of a certain age or a certain height and weight. But back here, there's another little play area that I never knew about. So let's go check it out. So it's kind of like the one at Animal Kingdom where you can run around and check out different slides and walks. Yeah, so let's go check it out. So yeah. So slide over here. Here, Mom, let's go in here. We don't have a stream, so it won't lag. Ooh, it's like Tom Sawyer Island. That's scarier. Jewels! They're dinosaurs. Oh my goodness. Oh, this just goes in a circle. Ha ha! Oh boy. Oh, I see their feet prints. I did it! Ha ha! Maybe? Ooh! Mom, do that little one. Ha ha! Little dinosaur. Oh, that one's broken. That one makes the same noise. That's funny. Do we dare? We dare. Oh my goodness. Oh, kids are coming. Watch out! Sorry, Mom, about your hair. Holy moly. This is like Halloween Horror Nights right here. I literally can't see. You follow me, Mom. We got this. Oh my goodness. Okay, I see light. Let's go this way. Alright, we found some stairs. Oh, it's pretty cool. So yeah, if you've never explored this, definitely come check it out. The next time you're here. We're exploring, Mom. So eventually we'll be able to see the ride go by here. The Flyers. This is really neat. Fun little place to get out of the crowds for a bit. So excited. Jurassic Park music playing. And now there's no music. So pretty. It's a very busy day here at Hogsmeade. Wow. We're gonna go try to get into Honeydukes. See if they have anything new. Some new yummies in there. And here's the Hogshead. We saw some merch for that at the beginning of the vlog. It's right here next to the three broomsticks. Alright, here's Honeydukes. I think we're gonna try to get in this side door. Let's go see what they have. Alright, I don't see anything new so far. But it's really pretty in here and it's fun to check out. I'm gonna go to the case. See if there's anything new in there. Alright, it is crazy busy in here. So I think we're gonna go to the other side. See if we can get some treats over there. Universal side. So we thought about taking the train from Hogsmeade over there, but it is a 50 minute wait. So we're just gonna walk. It'll be much quicker. So we decided to stay over here to grab Starbucks because the line wasn't very long. But first, we're gonna go over here to their candy shop and get a sweet treat since Honeydukes was a long line. So the Island Market and Export is where the candy is. Candy and baked goods. We're in luck. It does not look busy at all. Way better than Honeydukes. Alright, let's pick out something. Something that looks good. A lot of yummy options. It's hard to pick. How cute this little minion is. I think I'm gonna get one of my favorites, which is the Berkey brownie and chocolate chip cookie. Okay, treats are acquired. Next, Starbucks. If you're wondering where Starbucks is, it's on your way in, right here on the left towards Marvel Land. It's kind of hidden, but they do have a sign. And a big sign right here, too. There's a little line. Alright, we have our Starbucks. Don't pay attention to the Disney cozy on here. But here is the Berkey. These are so delicious. And I got my normal vanilla latte. This time with coconut milk, though. Pretty good. Mom also got her a Berkey and an iced tea. We're gonna dig in. We're just sitting here near the bakery. People watching and listening to the music. So we decided after our snack, we're gonna go ride the Cat in the Hat ride. Wish I could film it. They don't allow filming in here, but I can at least show you the queue. Let's go inside. We'll head into the house here in a bit. We're close to going in the house here. And the ride vehicles are couches, which are very cute. And the ride spins. Alright guys, well that is it for our Islands of Adventure day. We didn't make it over to Universal side over there. But we had a great time at Islands of Adventure. Hope you guys enjoyed coming along. We only got to ride one ride, but it was a lot of fun still. It only took about 10 minutes. Sorry we couldn't bring you guys on the ride. Universal doesn't really like their rides filmed. Totally fine. But we can come here, not ride any rides, and have a great time.
