2 # We Go Back to Spain Anxious to See How the Building Work Has Progressed While We Were in England!

[Music] this episode is about us driving from France and Spain and going back to our Cottage in Spain to see the work that Pedro the Builder has been doing while we've been here so we're very much looking forward to seeing how he's got on and hoping he's done a really great job so just now I'm packing up the last few bits before we set off Rob's at work and I'm waiting for him to come home so we have eaten our sandwiches and he has got I'm so tempted to eat this here's got some [Music] pizza I have got a jacket potato with cheese on apples for me grapes for robs chocolate can't go without chocolate emergency Tiner pineapple and fruit juice for the morning I'm just going to load the car now and then hopefully Rob will be home really soon it's been a bit manic there's a cart rammed okay now we're ready to go so we were hoping to get at least part of the way through France before we stop for the first night but it's not looking too good is it uh no not at all I didn't finish work as early as I wanted so but looking on the right side there is one thing this has got an open ticket for the Euro tunnel yes so uh just rock up get on and go I like to have porridge and milk for breakfast so I just take that with me but poor Rob he's had to wait till 51 let's have a look though show me I haven't even seen it I bought them for you that looks good so you know what needs to happen now obviously yeah you need to go back to the shop and buy your own that way you won't be nicking more all the bloody it's time for the pan o chopa ta hand it over ooh nice and fresh okay that's T let's [Music] go last last night we made it to angulam which really wasn't quite as far as we been hoping for from angulam it's still 12 or 13 hours to our little cottage which is approximately [Music] there and there we go we emerge from the tunnel into Spain yipp [Music] so after 2 and 1 half days traveling we have finally made it [Music] fing W right it was a bit warm oh my goodness wasn't this warm when we got here last night no it wasn't it wasn't but we haven't never been in July wow all the roof [Music] okay that looks very good actually let's go and have a look at the rest of it [Music] [Applause] okay so what he's done is is plastered this wall which was exactly like that before so that we can have airon here and um we're hoping I think hoping to get put one of the units here and then one of the units here and then upstairs we've had a new window put in in the Loft section and then we're also going to have an airon unit going up there so this looks Fab the window looks brilliant um and as a bonus it looks like we've got this little area here that's been flattened because this was all like um just soil and rocks and it wasn't level and so now I could get a little chair and sit here and look at the view or even better I could sit here in the shade and look at that view [Music] stop wow it's pretty Bor up here okay so you can I mean you can see someone's been here because the little barrier has been moved but that's okay and um so wow this window is brilliant so before it was a little old wooden one but now it's nice and big so it's lighter and then we've got the mosquito screen so in the evening we can um open this window and just have the mosquito screen and um so last night just as soon as we got here we came and looked at this and opened it and there was a lovely Breeze going down so that's really good so we're very happy with this um so we did ask him to um plaster this wall um so that we can put the uh the air con unit here and that's so okay there is room for it to go there but I was sort of I think we were slightly expecting that it would have gone all the way up but anyway that's fine I mean I can do that I can do that myself yeah never done it before but so what I can learn how to do it anyway so that's brilliant we're really happy with that preparation for the airon and the window right anyway must be up since let's stop there show us some mirror so yeah there are one or two things that we've bought which I'm quite pleased about so this mirror that was gone really bad scratch I know it has that's why it's here and not in our house because we bought this I bought that from Ikea about 15 years ago and I was so pleased with that and I took it out lay it on the wall of our house and I scratched it that's good yeah so um but I think it's okay here isn't it it's okay cuz it's a really pretty mirror and yeah and [Music] also and also I found this one as well so I'm really pleased with that that was $3.99 in a charity shop so that is another mirror and that's great and then finally the other thing I'm really happy about he me yes obviously like the new chain for the chaina oh oh BL oh the chain for the no I'm not bothered about that that's what I'm bothered about okay so this is very excitingly Bo pen don't want that it is paint for the kitchen floor it's concrete paint so ultimately yes we're going to tile the kitchen and this and the store part of the kitchen but now we have paint and I think it's called did you say what it's called aloe aloe aloe and so that is a lovely gray grayy pale green and as ultimately we're going to have sort of teal teal we going we're going to reto all the floors yes we are but um for unit for the kitchen we're going to have sort of this color like a sort of a Bluey dark teal and so that should look lovely mora not really allowed in but I think you AR got was Choice yeah we got to make an ex the messages obiously gone out that the household has got biscuits yes make yourself at home no go on then okay whis what am I getting yeah what it that's the magic noise that fridge mate is it trisuit is it trisk oh my goodness look at that I'm all bothered about you letting all theot aing oh yeah come on then come on then oh I bet she thinks this floor is lovely and cool yeah well it won't be for long when you leave the door open for the next 3 hours yes good point how can I get her out though out with a biscuit Mirena that's all you need to do get rid of you take a biscuit outside oh come on there good idea that magic noise oh yes J every dog knows what that means don't they J in good job good job well we are pleased pleas with the work we've had done aren't we yeah it's gone really well uh it's just we didn't originally budget for having the walls rendered and the roof replaced for the air conditioning so um the solar panels are on hold for a bit until we uh get some more money so we're going to look around the Bor now then um so this BN is really a bonus um you know we've got enough room in the house um but this is giving us all sorts of exciting possibilities so it's twostory we're going to look around the bottom of it first um we went in here to have a look at it when the owner was show well the then owner was showing around the house and actually apart from a little tiny brief look we haven't been in there so it's full of junk um I think the soil the floor is soil and I'm not sure what I'm going to find in there I'm happy with spiders say up to about that size I'm hoping I'm not going to find anything else but let's have a okay then so here goes right so stone walls um did have a light but it's gone flat so but I think we can see we can see the beams they are really riddled with woodworm so if we wanted to do anything with this room they would need to be replaced okay so um what have we got drawers lid of an old oh an old trunk okay so again lovely stone walls okay well that's good nothing's come running out of here and crawled at my legs that's a definite bonus um yeah I'm not going to start picking things up and looking underneath things I don't think that's the right thing to do okay and then got the window okay just an old door some old boxes that's weird isn't it I wonder why there's like little um holes hollowed out of the wall there and there okay so that is a decent sized room right so in here then we've got another little room and actually in here there is a s more about the sink in a minute it's not such a good thing as it appears some of the bathroom tiles and there is water connected to that and actually there is a light in here and that works so that's brilliant um so you know maybe in the future I'm thinking this could be a separate This Barn could be a separate little block um and this could be a kitchen okay right but the only thing is that sink here is the pipe and then the water from it just comes out into the right there how stupid is that so if you're going to use that sink regularly you're going to have a wonderful crop of weeds here in the yard which we don't really need Okay so let's go up the stairs now oops I look where I'm going quick shot of the lovely view okay [Music] so I've not been in here either I know Rob's been in here and when the owner or the then owner showed us round he said whatever you do do not go in here because the floorboards or the beams downstairs are rotten but I know Rob Rob has been in here and he's walked on the beams so I'm thinking it's probably okay for me okay so what have we got then what those things that an old saddle it's like some kind of old saddle definitely or a bridal or something don't know much about horses oh yeah look there's the saddle that is a big saddle wow look all they left it oh my goodness it's an old toilet that's a bit shocking what's the point of keeping that okay so some big plastic excuse me it's a bit Dusty big plastic bottles oh blimy an old sink that sort of okay I was going to say it looks like it's in quite good condition but maybe it isn't oh that's interesting look that's just been Breeze block bricked up so there's obviously some kind of big window or door thing there maybe that's how they lifted oh my goodness it's a hole I've just seen a hole uhoh right well I'm okay so far but I think I'm going to go fairly quickly out of here big straw thing what is it oh couple of big straw baskets okay right let's go well I'm going to close the door when I've put the camera down yes that's the safest thing to do [Music] [Applause] [Music]
