Shoshana shows us an exercise that's all about balance, control and core engagement.
I'm at the Ab Apartments in Kingdall, Prussia.
Today's exercise is all about
palate, control, and core engagement.
Are you so excited?
I'm excited too.
Okay, this is an exercise that we're gonna do slowly, okay?
So bending on the start of my left leg forward.
Right leg is back.
Just my toes.
I'm not putting my heel down at all
because that gives me more balance, right?
More stabilization almost.
I don't want that.
I want to challenge my balance.
So I'm gonna lift my heel off of the ground.
Handshake forward.
All the weight is right here in this left leg.
Palms face each other.
Reverse fly looks like this, right?
So we roll our shoulders back.
Keep our axe in soft in the elbows.
We're gonna squeeze our shoulder blades together
and then we're gonna lift that right leg up,
squeeze in our glute and come back down, right?
Belly is fine.
Back is flat.
Core is fully engaged here.
We're going to take a deep breath in.
So we're gonna fly and then we're gonna lift.
Beautiful.
We're gonna fly and then we're gonna lift.
There you go.
So are we feeling it in this left leg?
Of course we are.
Are we feeling it in our back muscles?
Of course we are.
Are we feeling it in our core?
Of course no.
That's why it's so amazing
because you feel it everywhere and I love it.
So what are you looking for at this 10 to 12 here?
Taking your time, really focusing on balance.
My legs burn into balance or engagement.
Really going into that fly and pinching your shoulder blades, right?
I always say like when you're doing anything like reverse,
like a reverse fly, think about, or a row, right?
Think about pinching your shoulder blades together
like there's a pencil in between your shoulder blade
and squeeze them,
but not straightening the neck, rolling your shoulders down.
So what we do on the left, we would do on the right armlessly.
10 to 12, see how you feel.
If you can do more, do more.
If you can go heavier, safely, proper form, do that too.
Keep challenging yourself.
Keep getting stronger.
Don't give up.
