it feels a lot like Christmas morning this morning it didn't sleep very well last night because I'm playing primers [Music] my nernst is so special to me for so many reasons it started back in 1999 I was 15 years old watching Payne Stewart win the US Open in such dramatic fashion I wanted to be a professional golfer and that tournament really set in stone for me what I wanted to do with my life flash forward a little bit more to 2014 you have back-to-back opens and I was fortunate enough to be in Pinehurst a month after the opens I didn't play the course I drove right by it looked at it fresh off the restoration the magic in the air at Pinehurst is is tangible there's something special here Golf is in the air no matter where you look in the surrounding communities golf clothes always on golf stickers on cars golf license plates it's just a very magical place here and I'm so lucky today that I get to come out play the cradle play Pinehurst number four after its redesigned by Gil Hanse and above all just soak in the beauty and the magic that is Pinehurst and you're in for a real treat today this is the cradle 10 acres of some of the best golf you'll ever play designed by Gil Hanse of course record is 19 and it's fun golf no frustration John's the player guides at the cradle today I'm a starter the starters crabs you start other other tracks no just here just the cradle so you know the cradle inside and out that's amazing there's just some magic in the air cleaners yes okay we have some outstanding young players here yeah had one of the nine year old left here beat my death score of 24 he kept 23 on there so your best course 24 course records 19 hope that can report back that it's 82 on every oh that's that's incredible he had a hole in one two cards and the rest birdies Wow it's one of our caddies who's a plus two so he knows we tend to the club though yeah all right I got my work cut out for me this is scooti pretty fun Thanks this is Charlie are you started all the golf courses yes Balmain 12 years on this 12 years just on number four I'll say one thing for Charlie reveries work Annie's in charge Charles in Charge what is the consensus spin on that resign by Gil this coach is harder than the course before that's great yeah before it did a good job as far as never I think you see what you think of enjoying the day it match the whiners it's a Twitter goes to that's what I first got a couple friends play number four and they say it's how did they do they love it everything about the challenges we all struggle they all sound higher than their that's what most people - yeah yeah most people do I think it's about me five shots harder six shots higher than the previous on a second hole and already I can tell the design of this place is obviously spectacular you got to be really smart with where you miss these greens that's gonna be the key it's par-5 I just missed it left the green but maybe that was the smartest place this is kind of going along this the the magic in the air here I usually listen to music when I play have the phone on no music today phones on do not disturb check-in what I want to check it beautiful day in North Carolina by myself on a beautiful golf course just open it [Music] [Applause] I'm a 12th hole and this place is pretty special got off to a hearts the hot start actually was 200 through 4 but then it starts to sneak up on you the fairways are very generous it's a great golf course for driving the golf ball but the greens are tricky if you miss it in the wrong spot you're struggling for par I've made a sloppy bogey and a couple of sloppy pars even though they're wide oh they're wide and generous fairways the golf course is nearly 70 300 yards but plays it plays good and long it's a little wet today but you got a golf your ball to break part here so I've got 7 holes left hopefully I can make a few birdies or a birdie or two and keep it [Music] sweet last teacher on the world war today coming up on the 18th hole here and this has been great kind of love this golf course I absolutely love this golf course hit driver on every single hole lots of room can still get in trouble just freewheel it and have mid to long irons into every hole not a lot of wedges I love it par fives or gettable one short drivable par-4 there the 16 tall birdies bullet par-5 in the back nine three under par middle of the 18th fairway see if we can with another tweet tweet all done hit a little left the green made a cheeky little fanned down and saved my par so 69 pretty pleased with that obviously if I can hit driver straight on a big golf course I like my chances of playing well especially if the greens are smooth like they are birdie the par-5 make it a little bit easier on myself done the golf part of my day there is I mean I could stay here till sundown there's a lot to do here at pine nurse but for my tastes my interests they have a craft brewery now Pinehurst Brewing Company so that's where I'm headed next then it's sample the beers they have here so I'm gonna go back to the hotel shower up get freshened up I'll see you all in three I mean you can't have a day at pinehearst without sitting on a rocking chair watching the green at 18 on number two watching people take pictures of the pain sewer in statue special special place magical place the brewery was spun on the Carolina barbecue they're really tasty a nice little flight of beer really good stuff to sample had to put a stop it at a flight because I'm an athlete now and I've got a tournaments play this week I want to be well-rested and not too foggy come tomorrow and in the days that follow but wow what an experience here at Pinehurst I hope I've done a great job in this video showing you the magic and just how special this place is I cannot wait to come back plane over to cross more of this experience off my bucket list I highly encourage anyone you gotta make it here if you love a game of golf got to come here make a buddies trip making a bachelor party bachelorette party I can't thank Pinehurst enough for having me out here today to play the cradle to play number four to experience everything to filmed with these thank you very much Pinehurst for having me I hope you enjoyed this video give it a thumbs up subscribe if you haven't see I'm an ex adventurer [Music] [Music]
