This week we are organizing, we are resetting, we are getting back into a nice normal perfect
morning routine and most importantly we are planning the spring garden. What a fun nice
cozy week at home and I hope you guys enjoy. I love you. I love you so much. So perfect.
Good job. Fist bump. Let's do it again. Sit. Fist bump. Yeah. Good boy. You're so smart.
Happy Sunday y'all and welcome to another vlog. I'm doing part two really of this home reset.
Today is Sunday and I'm officially old and a real adult because I'm spending my Sunday
cleaning the garage and doing yard work. Charlie's helping. We're going to organize
the garage to the best of our abilities and then we're going to kind of start garden prepping the
garden just because it's bad. There's lots of weeds. I haven't been there in months. I didn't
really garden last year because I was living between Texas and Nashville and now I'm back
here full time. So back to the garden we go. Bobby, who is my friend from the farmer's market
who owns Bobby's Best Starts. Amazing stuff. If you guys are in DFW and you like seedlings or
like literally anything garden related he's amazing. He's at Good Local's farmer's market
and you can find him on Instagram. He's coming over tomorrow and he's going to help me plan my
gardens and take us through the whole thing. Anyway it's actually like 40 degrees out so
I'm wearing this active set. It's so cozy and we're off. I'm going to set a timer for the
garage. This is what I do whenever I'm cleaning or resetting anything. I set timers to like weird
amounts of times that challenged me. So I'll do like 28 minutes or something probably for the
was what we were doing today. Also cleaned out from the dinner party and I reset the table. It's
not exactly what we had for the last dinner party. If you guys haven't seen that vlog go watch it.
It's like my favorite video ever but I like to just have all of this stuff out at all times
because it feels cozy and like we could just sit down and have dinner. Marissa is just sitting here.
Don't mind that she's just she's here really but anyway love this setup. It's so amazing and so
incredible but if you guys haven't watched that video like how I host a dinner party 10 out of 10
recommend. It's my favorite YouTube video I've ever done. Alright y'all this is very vulnerable
but here's the before of the garage. It is not great I will say. It isn't but when I did buy a
Big Ben to put in my side yard for like the toys and stuff for my nieces and nephews out here.
So that'll be convenient and that's going to be set up today as well but we have all of this.
I need to get rid of this bar. It fell apart the first time we moved it.
Charlie said he's gonna get me a new one so we will still have bars. It's from Wayfair. It's like $200
and it's the most beautiful looking bar but like he wasn't the one who set it up and I think we
just need to have it like reset up. I mean the reviews were also that it wasn't amazing so like
you know who's to say but anyway I want to set this up to be a little bit better of
a gym as well. Also guys like I have this sauna and cold plunge. So this cold plunge I was doing
for like a deal and they were sending me like the chiller that came with it. They sent me the
chiller that came with it and it was broken and this is over the span of like a year like it was
kind of like it's been like a nightmare experience. Okay so it came broken so I sent it back to get
repaired and it just like never came back and I'm like hey just checking on the status of like
the my chiller that I sent back for repairs and they were like oh yeah we're not like sending
that back and I'm like but like it was my chiller. I'm like confused. So anyway all that being said
this has just been like a nightmare of an experience and it's been you guys have seen
I set this up forever ago like over a year ago. At this point I think I need to part ways with
this cold plunge and just get a new one because I want one that is actually like chilled. I don't
just want like a big container for water like I got it because it had the ice chiller and like
now I'm like all right I don't like I don't want to deal with this anymore. So anyway if you guys
have good cold plunge recs let me know. They help me so much like hot and cold therapy. It's so
crazy what it can do for you like I actually feel like I could run for president after I do hot and
cold therapy like when you're between the sauna and ice plunge you do like 15-3, 15-3, 15-3 like
literally I've never been more clear-minded in my life so I do want to get back to that like
desperately and honestly I can probably use that just because it's cold right now and like add ice
I just want to add ice every day like I know myself and like I just will not do that therefore
I will not use it like I have to make things easier in like a health standpoint if I want
to use that so anyway the chairs that were here for the dining room I gave to my sister
so that's gone I've got some wrap to put away and yeah we just have a lot of like random stuff
honestly like it looks really bad but I don't think it's gonna take I don't think it's gonna
take as long as you think in the dream world as you guys know I want cabinets up here closed
cabinets so we can actually organize and get things going there but it's just a lot this stuff
too a lot of the frames and everything I use them like this and this like I use them dependent on
what I'm hosting so they kind of just stay out here and I have a beautiful custom art piece that
probably will also go to the lake house I'm moving some stuff to the lake house eventually okay we're
beginning now I kind of wish it wouldn't even move this chair out of my bedroom I think I would put
it back and eventually we are going to just move it to the lake house because I don't even have
space for this right now but like that lamp will go to the lake house I need like a u-haul that's
actually 26 minutes nice here we go
this is my favorite thing to do ever
goodbye it's so fun all right y'all I did not meet my self-imposed deadline this took more
it was closer to like 45 minutes um I think I went through actually the entire life of a show
album so however long that is but this place feels so much better honestly looking on camera
it looks messier than it feels in real life um the stuff over here all of that is going to be
for the most part is going to be taken to the lake house um my dad has a lake house and I'm
just going to start moving stuff over so he can use it there and it's perfect over here we finally
have a usable gym space my dad moved recently and he gave me um just some of this gym equipment
because he doesn't really have space for it right now so loving that we have the cooler out here we
swapped for like the bar cart that I take outside it's over there my garden station is up and Adam
which is really my motivation to get this back because there's nothing better than having
homeworthy on this tv or just like a nice chill playlist on in gardening and like doing my
things and stuff out here it's incredible and then over here we like cleaning supplies
we'll probably get something to like hang that wrap that's just a rod of fabric that I have
that I need to bring to my go and yeah there's some stuff but there's just like not really room
for everything right now so anyway it feels like amazing like you can actually like walk
in here which is really just such a great amazing step that I'm personally I'm obsessed with
and I'm so happy and then we had some more stuff to organize in here so I went through
and I hung up some stuff sneak peek of this this is the first sample they're not exactly what I
want them to be but they are really stunning so we might have some tabletop coming soon I'm really
hoping like look at how beautiful and stunning it's our custom twall custom what did I say like
that I don't know but anyway it's looking amazing feeling even better like I feel like a million
bucks now and like a real adult every time I go through you guys know you've seen me do this like
five times but it feels amazing this pantry is actually the bane of my existence there's so much
stuff so unorganized so it's just oh my god it gets so bad and just we throw things in I'm the
worst about it like I I'm not gonna do a full like insane pantry organization I'm just gonna do a
little refresh to get things going a little bit better I'm not going through everything I'm not
gonna do a full thing I just don't have that in me today but I'm gonna do a little something
all right y'all the pantry like the 25 minute little refresh you just did night and day it's
not amazing it's not perfect like I definitely want to take a day and go through all of this
and check every label and like reorganize it to the way that it was when I actually had it
organized but we're definitely making some real progress here and this feels so much better and
it took me 25 minutes like it really does not take that long at all now it is time to go grave the
garden we're not like actually mending the beds or anything yet I just need to get rid of the
weeds because oh hello the weeds are crazy it's really bright out oh my gosh all right
let me take you guys through what we have now I also need a ton more soil cute I still have my
cute little like bistro set here um those are actually for like worm compost which
is gross actually I cannot believe how much these have gone down it's crazy and it stresses me out
because the beds are like expanding this way do you see that these beds are all vago garden and
I just don't have like supplies and stuff in here um I don't love that but I'm just gonna get
all of this like the weeds and stuff on the ground and then of course like down here guys
this is crazy first up oh welcome to my garden that sign needs to go back up I need the hose
to be hung back here I need to replace this it's been broken for like a year and then all of this
stuff just weeds in this is normally where I do my chaos garden so I need to like get rid of all
of that but we're gonna go through and just clean it up a little bit for when Bobby comes tomorrow
and then we'll actually like do mending the garden beds and all that stuff also I really need to get
this stained my neighbors extended our fence and I just like haven't gotten it stained to match
because I still don't even know what color this is so that's another thing but anyway just getting
rid of this it's gonna take 10 minutes like really no time at all but it will be so worth it
guys I'm really excited to be back in my gardening era there is truly nothing more therapeutic and
calming actually than any of my grandma hobbies than being outside on a beautiful day doing yard
work gardening tending to my garden it's amazing so clearly this isn't really what's not to be
happening here like what even is this like I don't think it's like oh my god I don't even
have a trash bag for this right now I'm just getting it all out but it's also so nice because
this whole garden I just turned my side yard into a garden like and this is my living room so when
you look at the windows it's like all the garden it's so pretty and fun but this is just not working
for me oh wow and now this year thank god I have charlie because when you go through and you're
like mending your garden beds and having to break up the soil I think I had to do that myself in
the past couple of years it is such a pain such a bitch it really is it's so awful and I just love
now that I don't have to do it I think that's the best part about gardening yay yeah you're gonna
love it so anyway it's looking better back here we did a little 10 minute refresh I'm gonna put
that in the trash bag later but one thing about Coco is like she is always finding her way to
the garden like there she was she was just crawling her way out she loves the garden so anyway I'm
excited for my garden planning this is oh I think that I was stung by a bee I think that I was
actually anyway I'm so excited to get back to it and I'm so excited to plan my garden tomorrow I
even got my 2026 garden planner in which is very very very exciting but that concludes the little
house reset today so I think I'm gonna shower get into really cozy pajamas a robe and I need to
needle point I have a goal of doing like three icons on the belt per week so that I'm able to
get this done within like a month so I'll show you guys because I'm like pretty close to meeting
that goal today my my self-proclaimed deadline you guys know how I feel about those is Sunday
I need to get to that it's actually freezing outside my god
it is 2 p.m on a Sunday afternoon and I have cleaned and organized my house uploaded my
YouTube video gotten back into bed after a nice bubble bath well it was like a bath bomb bath
kind of thing I have my candles lit my water here a new book so I'm reading the women by Chris and
Hannah finally or I just started it and like it's already incredible and I know everything she writes
is amazing like I should have read this long ago but now for some reason this year I'm like actually
wanting to read books that are like more mature and not you know what I mean like I feel like when
I was younger I remember when I recorded with Jackie from the toast on the podcast and she was
talking about all these like historical fiction books and stuff that she was reading and I was
probably like 25 when we recorded that and I was like it's not there like I just know like
eventually like I will know that I am actually like a real adult whenever I'm wanting to read
that kind of stuff and like I'm craving those kinds of books oh my god yesterday guys I like
to let me just let me set you up for this one yesterday I finished the correspondent by Virginia
Evans and guys when I say that is one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life I will
always think of Sybil I would have like but if I was by myself when I was reading I would have
sobbed like it was just oh my god and like don't essentially it's about this woman who writes
Monday Wednesday Friday she like corresponds with people through letters she writes Monday
Wednesday Friday like 10 to 12 every week and she's really into her letters it's always been
this thing she was a clerk to this judge and it's like later in her life she's a very complicated
character she's a very complicated woman and she's a flawed which I really appreciate one I love
reading about women like over 60 and two I really like when they're flawed because it's realistic
like that's everyone you know so anyway it's all of these letters and the stories told through her
letters which I didn't think I was gonna like that style of writing at all because I was like I don't
want to read people's like that's not really like it wasn't really like doing anything for me but it
was so good like and then I started to think when I was reading it I'm like well reading a book is
kind of like reading a letter anyway it's really not that different but like oh my god one of the
best books I've ever ever read if you guys have not read it yet please read it I think of Sybil I
will think of Sybil for the rest of my life I'm not kidding I think it was such an amazing book
like literally the best thing ever so anyways now I'm reading the woman by Chris and Hannah
I did see like if I want more of like a palette cleanser easier read I might read Colleen Hoover's
new book just to like stay up to date I haven't seen that many people talk about it and I loved
Colleen Hoover like my earlier 20s but I just got the PR package actually today for the book so
I don't know I think it's a thriller I might give it a shot I love verity so like you never know
and anyway oh I need to show you guys my needlepoint belt so I have all this stuff
because I'm working on a couple different projects but I'm really working so heavily
right now on the needlepoint belt I started this a week ago today and this is where I'm at
I'm trying to get through and do three icons a week so that way I can finish it within a month
but I am traveling to Chicago this week and I'm hoping that I get a lot done so I'm hoping that
I can get this done in like three weeks it'll just depend on if I want to start other projects
because I've also I can show you guys a little whip since it won't be Wednesday when I'm recording
but I have a couple other things that I want to get stitched and again I have so many big
stitching plans this week or this year with all of the friend of mine launches so I want to get
like this stuff done this is for my dad for his birthday and then I'm going to have it finished
for father's day but I'll probably give it to him before that if I actually like have that but what
I have in my project bag right now there's some bigger projects that I'll be getting in February
we'll be launching two hopefully ideally for a friend of mine in February so I want to get this
stuff done as much as possible so that I can able I'm able to like run into it or I'm able to like
start those whenever I have them so this I did in essentially a night and I need to do the
background turn it into an ornament this I started stitching and like this it's just it's a mess but
um Harrison and I just recorded a stitch of this episode and I started stitching and I'm using very
velvet so it's really fun these are friend of mine canvases we will be restocking all of these
we're just switching over who is manufacturing our um like needle points but I've sent them in
if you guys are wanting a restock like do you want to pre-order because that actually would be
helpful because if we do a pre-order we can we will still have like a max of whatever it is for
like the order but that way there's less of a chance of it all selling out you just might have
to wait a month or two months like what is too long for a pre-order and do you guys want pre-orders
I do think it's different I need a point where it's like people are like more down for that
I still need to and I really want to get this done this week I still really need to finish the
Jeffrey it's gonna love this little four inch round it will take me two seconds and now that
I'm a basket we've grown like I wish I would have basket we've did but I need to get this done but
I've just been so hard at work on the belt and then I have this that I had custom-made for Charlie
it's gonna be a key fob and CC needlepoint that's who I have to do my customs and she's amazing
like so nice she also has the like Nancy Meyers directed this like needlepoint canvas it's like
the cutest thing ever so anyways I'm gonna spend my afternoon trying to get through here and then
I might get to work on the I know one just to catch up with my deadlines I've also been using
these little smaller bags and I have from Oregon Julia designs in here to like keep the different
projects organized and it's actually been really nice but also we're out of stock I think of the
friend of mine project bags like do you guys want these should we restock them let me know
anyway I think I'm gonna drink a coffee watch Top Gun and what are you doing I'm gonna get you coffee
oh thanks and well we might watch football but I think we're gonna watch Top Gun today and I'm
gonna need a coffee and that was the plan look at how sick this looks behind me my room divider if
you guys didn't see the last vlog where I got this on basic marketplace for like 200 bucks there's
trim on the other side and it is just perfect and it's exactly what I needed for this room I thought
I was gonna do matching wallpaper curtains and then I saw this and I'm like this is so much
sicker and it's just cooler like I some people were commenting like that does not match I don't
like a super like perfectly matched house I like things to feel like lived in and like I like to
mix patterns that is more my vibe I am gonna replace the wallpaper and I'm trying to find
the perfect like thicker muted stripe either it's green or like creams or something so
anyway happy Monday today's actually a holiday I'm drinking my coffee currently 11 but as of
this morning I am back in business when it comes to my new slash old morning routine we're bringing
it back also this Jones Road like I don't even know if I'm supposed to put this is the
like transparent one miracle balm all natural I don't even know if I'm supposed to put this all
over my face but like I have been because this isn't like tinted so I don't know anyway this
morning perfect morning routine and I'm back and this is my updated morning routine okay guys I
am going to be waking up at 6 and then from like 6 to 6 45 I'm gonna be marching my butt over to
the living room turning on the fire having some hot lemon water and that is what I'm going to be
reading and writing so I'll do my morning pages my journaling in the morning and then I will be
reading speaking of guys oh my god update on the women it is I don't even know oh my god I'm only
20% of the way through and like all I want to do is read that book it is so unbelievably good and
like my coach Erin has been telling me and she's also my friend hasn't telling me for like years
to read the women and I'm like I don't know because you know I said like I feel like I was
too busy reading like smut that like was written by like a seven-year-old you know to me like
it's not really actually a lot of smut is good I don't um I was too busy reading like
not that kind of vibe of books right then I for whatever reason like the other day once I finished
my favorite book now the correspondent by Virginia Evans I was like you know what I feel like I could
really elevate the books that I'm reading because I felt like that one did so then I picked up the
women and when I say like that oh my god I cannot wait to read that I just had a big makeup order
and I forgot that I needed more eyebrow gel anyway then around 6 45 go and throw on my workout clothes
and go out to the gym which is usable now huge and go walk on the treadmill for an hour and work
on my laptop so I get all the emails done just like random miscellaneous stuff because I do have
to work out at 8 30 which feels very late to me but I just like love the people that I work out
with so I'm keeping my 8 30 workout I like when I get things done before the 8 30 workout so that
I feel like I've like kind of started my work day and I'm like ahead of it you know I hate when I
get there and I'm like oh my god I feel rushed and I have too much to go right then after that 8 30
my workout that is the perfect morning routine at least for me like it truly is just the best
morning routine so anyway tomorrow we are off to Chicago and I need to pack for that I actually
just pulled a couple things that I think I'm gonna end up wearing it's gonna be obviously very very
cold there and I need to get on that I need to get a bunch of works on this morning and I'm so
excited because Bobby is finally coming over and we are planning my garden for hopefully the year
probably just in the next season but I do have just a lot of questions for him I'm gonna take
you guys through the entire process but it's just gonna be so fabulous like actually the most
fabulous also I need more blush this isn't enough blush blindness for me oh that is definitely too
much I really want to try toasted teddy the road blush because Macy keeps telling me I would love
it and she's really passionate about me trying it so like I need to just get it oh yep blush
blindness here we are but I actually forgot that I'm filming today so I should probably do like a
little bit more makeup these tower 28 mascaras are amazing I like the brown one I love brown
mascara sometimes mascara especially when I'm not tan it just feels so like stark on me you know
this actual mascara oh my god it's the perfect mascara also I got my nails done I'm trying to
figure out like a very natural go-to nail like I feel like everyone has a go-to nail that they
do and I just don't have that I don't even check the colors I just go and I'm like red sure whatever
that's fine and then I'll get tired of red then I'll move on to the next but I want to find one
that's just really classic and more elevated that I like so I've been going through and I just go on
Pinterest and I ask them I go on Pinterest I go through those nails and then I like try to
recreate them or whatever anyways I'm nail salon today and I wasn't paying attention at all it
literally took them 25 minutes Castle Nails on Mockingbird by the way in Dallas I used to go
there all the time I'm not like a ritzy nail salon girl by any means like I just go to whatever is
like close to me but Castle Nails on Mockingbird I got there at 9 25 then I mean up until 10 because
my workout was over and I didn't realize that they hadn't opened well there were people in there
so I actually think maybe they were open anyway they had me come in they and I was in and out of
there by 10 a.m. and like my nails are good it's not them that like I don't know I'm just like iffy
on the color because I feel like it's too sheer I got two coats of the sugar like dnd gel no that's
dip two whatever it was something I'll figure it out but I almost feel like they're just a little
like I needed like another coat but then the more I look at them the more I actually like them I'm
like okay this might be this might be it but if y'all have a good nail combo though please please
let me know see this mascara I just love it it's really great all right I need to figure out I'm
gonna figure out what I'm doing but so I've been using the divi scalp serum but I have more than I
thought I've got three of these I bought a pack I've used this in the past and I swear that it
works but I've been consistent again with it just the past couple of weeks and I'm really excited
to see what happens I don't necessarily want my hair to get longer like I don't really have a
problem with it growing longer I don't really care about the length I want my hair fullness
back like it's just I want it to be as full as possible like I need Kate Davis hair and I need
to be getting my glimmer eye mask or my glimmer mask I need to be consistent with neutral like
so desperately that is like number one and I really really need to be doing my infrared headband that
I just got also while we're here amber saffron this perfume smells amazing it literally smells
like a baker out one but it stays on longer I think in my opinion than those dossier it's a
great I love them they do like knockoffs of perfumes and stuff I'm not really like a spend
a lot of money on scent sort of girl so I really appreciate this stuff and this is my favorite
scent in case anyone's wondering and I also really love the rare beauty perfume that perfume is so
good I just looked up the weather for Chicago this week just to see what we're working with
currently right now it's three degrees oh the high today is six isn't that nice my cute outfits
are out the window okay today's colder than normal it's gonna be a high of 28 and a low 14
oh but don't worry this weekend Friday high of three low of negative two Saturday high of 13
low of five Sunday high of 19 low of nine that is your weather report for this vlog I hope you guys
enjoyed what the hell am I gonna wear I actually used to spend a lot of time in Chicago when I was
younger and I spent like New Year's Eve there and I was like I'm literally gonna get hypothermia so
okay guys I'm back with Bobby do you want to give a little intro yeah sure been on the vlogs before
we did my garden like two years ago but for those who are new to the channel just give us a little
background on you so I am a an avid gardener when I was a little bitty kid my mom bought me sugar
cereal and there used to be really good cereal and really good really good prizes in cereal
and there was a little geranium and I put in alfalfa seed and it's exploded into this amazing
mass of plant matter and I was hooked this is my mom and I just basically started gardening
as a bachelor I would woo my lady friends with a whole balcony on the third floor of like
watermelons and strawberries and peppers so that's kind of how I got into it during the pandemic I
have a big huge garden and I'd started way too many seeds and I said hey I want to see if anybody
would buy them I put a Facebook post out and a bunch of people bought plants and you'd have
thought I sold a million dollars worth of plants and here we are five years later and if you're
in Dallas you can find them at good locals farmers market that's right good local markets and 1450
old gate lane and uh on bobbysbeststarts.com yeah so perfect he has a lot of like content even if
you don't live in Dallas like a lot of gardening content online and stuff so you guys should go
follow okay so what we're doing today is we're going to figure out what I can plant yes in the
spring season for sure and the first thing we talked about earlier today was that we just need
to get the beds refreshed all together you can see there's a ton of the soil has settled a ton
so we would just raise it up meantime we'll make those look a little bit straighter and get the
soil right up to the level as you can see here you don't have a giant window for direct sun so we're
going to need to get the plants as high so that the walls of the bed don't inhibit it getting as
much sun as possible and then we're going to pick plants they're going to be really good for that
narrow window so things like lettuce and herbs we're going to try which we talked about that was
a really great idea we're going to try and do maybe some vining things like cucumbers and tomatoes
that'll let you be able to take advantage of that little bit shorter time window of sunlight but
so exciting okay so i have four beds oh the back you know it looks really good back there i know
you're probably really proud because it looks amazing right it looks fabulous so that i
typically was doing like i did a chaos garden one year just because i had nothing else and i just
had the seeds and it actually did really well but is that a good like spot for it yeah so what i
would probably do there where's and the sun sets where for you right now good question i have no
probably that way i would assume so i would do maybe even just some cut flowers or something
like that here we're going to we have deep soil we're going to do really well with things are
going to be able to drop down into the roots to get nutrients and water with that just as it's
it's your farthest place you want it to be as carefree or not have to deal with it all of the
time so let's put in some things like zinnias that can do really hot weather so we did last
time and that was great and i would just fill it with that maybe just a ton of different kinds we
can do some um other hot weather flowers marigolds do really well from the early season into the late
season and cosmos so let's think about marigolds zinnias and cosmos in there and just beautiful
colors i've got a ton of great colors this year that we're going to be able to put in so that'll
be great perfect okay we're going to go inside and we're going to draw out my garden beds and just
make a plan and my garden planner of course let's get it done so we're going to go over
this bed right here in the backyard that has a lot more direct sunlight one we're going to pull
it off the wall no big deal move it down to where you want it but think about this like for pretty
cheap you could put in a um a really cute rain barrel they're the really cool tie-ins to these
downspouts that will allow it to take it in until it can't anymore and then the cool thing is is that
you have this sort of natural rain water by far like dallas city water super duper we're really
go check it out we're really high on chlorine levels in our water which is not good for the
soil microbes the rain water that you would catch and water this garden with way way better the cool
thing about rainwater is that as it pulls through the atmosphere our atmosphere is mostly made up
of nitrogen you think what's oxygen is what we're breathing well it's mostly oh mostly nitrogen and
as the rain falls through it it catches that nitrogen and it dumps it into the water so
essentially what that's why when you look at a prairie that's kind of brown fresh rain or they'd
say everything greens up nitrogen is the thing that that makes plants green so when you pull
that in it's so beneficial for the garden so if you could be watering this most of the time
with a cute little setup for a rain barrel it would be awesome so we can totally do that this
thing we take it apart we pull all the charlie and i will pull all this soil out put it in a
wheelbarrow move it into place we'd save that little nasturtium and then we fill it full of
new compost this is probably enough soil you can see that it's kind of got some
woody bits to it so it needs to be broken down a little bit more so i would add
like really well sifted compost that doesn't have any wood in it anymore because you've got
enough of that little bits in there and then we put in some micro life fertilizer the really good
stuff and then done we'd be planting in here like we said we wanted to do like
maybe four tomatoes yeah and then some intersperse some other things a couple peppers
maybe an eggplant or two and this would be if this is your best son super productive i guarantee
out of these this little bed perfect i'm excited for this one and then i thought like in a dream
world i would put a potting bench here so that's why i think i'm gonna move this that's why i like
i'm not good that would be really cute and really fun for you to be able to tie in with everything
perfect here's the problem um depending on obviously you're going to have noon sun but
if you're going to grow something back here it has to be a zero fruit berry thing so lettuce
that's a great thing really um herbs that are arid you want to keep them together so like rosemary
oregano and thyme which you would use all the time especially if it's this close to your
yeah to your kitchen would do really well this is sage if i'm not mistaken already i used to
have this like really up and going and i was using it all the time and i had it i had too
much stuff in here i think but i did have a lot yeah so that one already sage already what we
i would probably if i'm if i'm in your shoes we could come in and trim this totally back
trim up the oregano really refresh the soil if you didn't want to immediately put that bed put
the um potting bench if you did what i might do is just like push this right to the edge
you know we can make it you know put some gravel or whatever you want around it to look really
kind of nice but you've already got such a good established setup here that we would add maybe
some some time i think rosemary would be really good in here this bed especially does that come
on like every day or whatever no well right now we have them off right gotcha i think he turned
them off yeah we yeah so then what the great thing is that if you had rosemary sage oregano and thyme
you don't have to have any um you don't have to have like a regular watering schedule those
things thrive they're desert plants so they thrive on soil that isn't like super wet in fact
i have to pull rosemary out of my garden and put it in pots so that i don't over water it or else
it just dies like what are you doing i'm giving you all the nutrients and water you need but it
doesn't like a lot of water i think what you've already established would be really really good
and then another thing here i'll give you her name um but i started working with this lady
um who's in lake highlands and it's her she has a a subscription-based um landscaping business
but she also does come to turnkey fixes and whatnot it's called marigold landscaping she
is awesome and does really good work so she might be able to come in and give you some pointers or
whatever you know can have a conversation online or whatever yeah but i do think we save those
things we prune it we put some a couple of new things but all arid herbs and you'd be fresh of
set it'd be awesome okay great perfect i know i need to buy the potting bench yeah the potting
bench um is cheap so i need to just buy one i just haven't picked one out yeah i just want to
see if you would write this out a two-foot bed right so we'll deal with that so this is going
to be a like a scaled down version like a the overall bed is going to have four of them what
we need to do then is to think of each of these so essentially 16 plants can go inside of this guy
when we get the um when we get the actual bed and the soil raised up what i think i'd want to do is
maybe come in here and on the edges plant some chives maybe some carrots in the middle and that
it's going to allow us to have some foliage in there and look really nice and also we have to
cover the soil when we have especially in a raised bed when the soil is exposed the heat
our texas heat will dry out not just like the top inch or two it keeps digging and digging for all
of that water to kind of evaporate it out then the plants get really to where they're starting
to struggle especially shallow rooted plants so what i would say is we're going to take this as
that front bed we might want to put something kind of big right here like maybe a single
vining tomato that we could then talk we talked about maybe putting up some strings to the to
the fence then on behind that because we're gonna have some shade from that tomato and maybe we'll
put it maybe instead of right there we'll put it a little more on the front front to um front square
foot behind that we can come in with some lower slung stuff that can still handle heat like maybe
a um do you like hot peppers where are you with peppers great so we could do like a chili piquin
and a jalapeno and then now we're over again because these guys are going to be fairly low
and kind of bushy we might come in here with another tomato of a vining type um and then
another set of peppers here so i would say like maybe every other one we could be putting in
a tomato and then two peppers a tomato and two peppers and the tomato so um with that
the soil is covered we've got plenty of of coverage for uh plenty of sun to get everybody going
but in between all of those things is where we might want to come in and plant the the chives
the carrots um we could take the next bed and do something a little more vining like a um
like a squash how are you with squash i'm also i love it i'm also the least picky eater ever
like i'm happy for everything so we can just put things in right so one two we're going to
think of it that way where we are trying to put some big anchor things in each one and we could
use um by coupling them together tomatoes and peppers and cucumbers and eggplants let's say
and we could put those together and then that final back maybe the little six foot bed could
be something that we experiment with um i've got these beautiful they're um super specialty
sunflowers from a guy named sunflower steve and he's in may or something but there he has been
working on he has self select he's been selecting and keeping seeds i think it's like 10 years for
this one really beautiful he calls it the van gogh sunflower and it almost looks you know van gogh um
that impressionist painting everything is kind of wispy looking the the petals of the sunflower
super wispy so maybe in that middle six foot bed we can plant and treat those because the
sunflowers i don't know if you've known but like a big headed sunflower has a gigantic stalk
and it needs to drive down into the soil pretty deeply but we'll put maybe those in um one every
square foot and we can do it kind of diagonally so that space would have i think like six of them
yeah six of these beautiful sunflower steve sunflowers and in between that we could put
maybe some of that low slung stuff like marigolds or maybe more of the if you end up liking the
flavor and the beauty of those um oh my gosh why am i drawing the blank on they are called
the sunflowers no the little ones that we told you in the back oh wasabi um
so we'll we can sling in a bunch of like pretty useful that's i don't love to to think things
that are just for show like let's say a begonia which people put in dallas all in their front
yards it's like why would you do that when you can have something that you could eat yeah that's
and be beautiful so we'll we can play with getting on i'm all about making everything useful every
single square foot of this house got to i mean look at it so great literally every square foot
so your the goal here for us is um i can come up with the recommendations for these large bucket
things and then i'll we i'll bring some seed over that we can plant once the plants are the big
plants are in and we can start seeding or what we need to do is well here's what i would think
let's start by really trying to get the soil ready like getting the bed set you need to call vigo
and then try to say hey i've got two foot beds i need the little stabilizers because my
those are 36 inch tall till my 36 inch beds are bowing i need to get some things and they'll
send them to you like pretty quickly and i'm they're not super expensive so let's get those
in let's get soil in and let's do that i don't know what your schedule is like but let's do that
in the next 10 days yeah while we're super duper cold it's the right time because you're not going
to plant any new plants anyway so let's get all of that set then once i've got the soil level
up to the top i'll come in and i'll plant some carrots some chives all that stuff will kind of
sit dormant until spring really springs and i'll i'll be really intentional with where i put it
so that we can kind of leave these big open spaces for our big plants and then we're off and running
the not tricky part but the fun part will be it's easy to do it all you know in one big bang at the
beginning of this of the spring and everything will be really up and going but we have to be
thinking in march april like may we've got to be thinking about the super heat that's going to hit
in august so we'll have to like pull some of the things out like maybe the carrots start to
you're starting to eat them they're coming out we've got to put in some new things that can
handle the heat maybe more peppers maybe some sage that kind of thing so that we can get ourselves
bridged over to september which is where we'll put in like your new peppers i mean your new yeah
your new peppers new cucumbers that sort of thing to be able to get it um ready for the late early
fall late fall if i wanted to start some things from seed myself because i'm a whole setup like
what should i do and should i just do like do you think i should wait for that stuff to be like
planted obviously like in fall no what you so what we're always thinking about is right now
you're trying to be a whole like three months ahead so you're thinking about what is early
spring going to look like so we're we're we'll call it mid-january so mid-february mid-april
to mid-may that's your big season for brassicas things like cabbage broccoli all those things
that can handle really cold snaps and start to thrive as the temperatures rise just a little
bit then there's this big changeover like in june where all of that stuff is going to go to seed it
it's called bolting when it gets too hot it'll then we will be changing our mindset to i have
plants zinnias cosmos marigolds that can take that massive amount of heat that we're going to
come get in our summer months so right now your thought is i want to do cold weather plants you
can go look up a book called cool flowers it's cool flowers um and uh the lady who wrote that
book is amazing so she kind of wrote the book on cool season flowers so if you wanted to start
some seeds like i want to do veg broccoli all those kinds of things and i can give you a little
list of that but also like what what's the beautiful things that i want to grow as well
is it gumfrina is it rebecca like what are those things and you once you you get the book she has
a good timeline in the book to tell you much like um callie does in the dallas garden schools book
she's going to give you a good timeline of hey here's when you start here's how to do it it's
the book is great the thing that was most beneficial for me from cool flowers was the
fact that i just didn't know cut flowers at all and um you're not just growing flowers for flower
sake like in your mom's front yard or whatever it's like so yeah she always grew these things
what these are and those flowers in particular she's talking about are for florists cut flowers
so you're going to be able to grow things that you're going to cut and bring in and have a
beautiful bouquet that'll last you know just like you would if you bought at a local florist but
that's you grew that and you get to pick your colors your all that so that's my dream because
like i want to have my hosting gift for people be like a you know i obviously grew this of course
of course together and send them on home yeah i think that it would be great and you have so much
great growing space out there that you just need to turn up the dial on your understanding of when
yeah i mean the how is just a matter of doing it water it feed it no big deal but it's when to
start the key every good gardener is not like the best at getting their fingers dirty although they
do the best gardeners are those that understand the timing of the season they understand what's
best for your particular growing area we're in zone 8b you know it's it's experimenting but you
have to really know the seasonality of the things that you're planting and once you do you're you
have upped your gardening game by tenfold yeah that's just that is what i want to learn yeah
that's what we're good for and that's what so you're you've locked on to some of the best
resources so this cool flowers lady obviously dallas garden school cali is the number i've
never seen anyone with more knowledge about dallas specific growing i've learned a ton
from her she's helped me so much so locking onto those and i can be your supplier that's right
i'll be your guy so that's great perfect awesome this is great so now i have this planned
i also this planner i don't think really talked about it it is from the dallas garden school
so it's great for this season i'm sure there's so many different people who make them for different
zones but there's notes throughout which is really helpful and specific to us so she doesn't try it
she's not selling things in new york city no she's selling things to north texas gardeners and it's
such rich information it's so helpful of us okay well so we're gonna work on the garden beds next
yes that'll be good yes and then i will i'm leaving town this week but then i'm back and
then i'll start great with some seeds so before you leave town i want you to make sure that you
contact vigo oh i'll do that like today i need that that's my to-do list yes thank you so much
you guys can follow bobby and we are really just gonna make this garden such a magical place it's
gonna be awesome come see it and you guys can go see what the farmers market too okay i've been
cooking and working but this is a monumental day because i finished my first hosting journal so i'm
on to my next i went back and i junk journaled it's just such a special book i really want to
go through because this is like a scrapbook at this point and do like a spoof of the vogue's
like look throughout looks throughout the years but do it with like the dinner parties throughout
the years a friend of mine that would be so good we don't have that many of these in stock by the
way i just emailed saying we probably need to place a restock because we're pretty low on the
um last restock but if you guys are interested in these like you should honestly order them now
but oh my god i just love this thing i have my spaghetti and meatballs and i'm getting to packing
we're in chicago we're snowed in by texas standards and my frame bridge package
has arrived one of two the other one is a gift but guys are you ready for the rooster
let's see it she is setting this is the rooster that i found antique shopping that was in a
different frame and i saw her and i knew well i saw him so i knew it was perfect i took it to
frame bridge to get reframed because i don't want this house to be like i say this in like every
single video like to grandma like it needs like you know some things that are a little bit over
with the time and i feel like this frame in matt just kind of brought it back to like what i wanted
it to be i'm thinking i'm gonna put it over here and then i'm gonna move this over there
um but i have to kind of see the visual so i don't know now it feels like
yeah now it feels too small okay well we could the second thing is the kitchen okay that's no
issue because the first idea was actually to put it in the kitchen which is more fitting anyway
so brb we're heating up the water right now but this is what i'm thinking right here also i got
stuff for storage for my linux spice village and from urban i ordered it over a month ago
and it hasn't come in so i don't know what's going on what is oh this is the perfect size
but it has to be like out a little bit more there's too many cards the problem is it needs
to be i don't know it might be too big we can put a stopper or something or books behind it
okay at first i was unsure but the more i've moved things around and just kind of redecorated
i actually really love it up here the issue is that it's obviously not like nailed in and it's
leaning and just a little bigger than i thought but this is just gonna be amazing like i will
keep this piece forever and ever and ever it's so so good oh my god got it at frame bridge well
i got the rooster antique shopping and then i had it framed at frame bridge but i do love this and
feel like it brings the kitchen like it gives i don't like modern i mean this kitchen's very
modern brings it more to the modern times but i love that this by the way is from pennyland it's
a little acrylic like round for an ornament so once i finish the jeffrey one that i've been
working on i'll show you in a second it's going to go in here when it isn't hanging on the tree
and then we just have so many friend of mine card decks and stuff the reason the coloring is
different is because some of these are samples of different things and i've also like left them in
okay y'all so we are back from chicago it was really fun it was freezing i didn't even do or
see any of the people that we were planning on because the weather was just so bad the city in
chicago was like actually shutting down and then there was the ice storm here which is still
happening i mean it's not storming but it's still below freezing so nothing has worn off thank you
so much okay so i wanted to give you guys a little whip i'm just gonna be working it's really sad
because macy was actually supposed to come this weekend and she was gonna be here staying with me
when i got back and we were gonna have a surprise macy thompson party and it was a whole thing but
she's coming next week which actually works out even better because we're doing the rodeo and
next week is gonna be such an amazing week first off this weekend got the ina garden birthday party
stay tuned for that video then next week i have the stars invited charlie and i to a game and
charlie's like the biggest stars fan that's ever existed like he's went with his dad his entire
childhood he goes to the games like hours early he's a huge huge stars fan and i posted something
of him with the stars and then the stars reached out and invited us to a game so like actual coolest
day ever so we're going on monday to the stars game wednesday's the rodeo friday molly gets here
or thursday molly gets here and macy will be here for that molly's coming to visit and then we're
going on a stitcher tree me harrison caroline and molly and it's going to be literally the best
weekend ever look i actually cannot wait but anyway with that being said i was trapped it was
also the like anniversary of my brother passing so this past week has just been like a not great
week for me which means i got a lot of stitching done so um i guess i'll give you guys a little
update i didn't film a whip this past week so i don't even know i think probably the first three
icons is where we left off on like tiktok at least but i think last i talked to y'all i had just
finished up to here and i've gotten past this way so now i am about i'm a little bit more than halfway
through i do have a couple things to fill in over here just the threads that i forgot
and i am very confident that i'm gonna have this done by my deadline which was february 10th i
started this on january 10th and now we're exactly like 20 no it's been 15 days so i've gotten a lot
of this done um and then also this is just on my list of things that i really want to get finished
it's the jeffries i'm gonna love this needlepoint canvas i got this from one part whimsy she's a
texas designer and these are so cute harrison got different ones these are like ina garden ones
and i actually went in with velvets um for the words which honestly i feel like it just pops
so much better than like a silken ivory any other kind of fiber and i love this i wish i would have
had a different pink for the velvet um just for like the heart color but like i'm not gonna buy
another pink when i have that it's ridiculous so love this um oh i started very briefly on
the key fob that i had made for charlie this i get all my custom through at cc needlepoint
on instagram she's amazing and i just did the initials here and i'll probably get going on
that once i finish my dad's belt and then this is a mess because i just kept this in here and i don't
have a needle minder on this one but our classic dolly love her and then for cowboy dolly i finished
cowboy dolly in like a day or two actually i haven't finished i still need to do an eye and
a beak here um and then i need to figure out what i'm doing for the backgrounds i did get four inch
rounds to just turn these into ornaments to like circle to see what i need to do but i want them
to have matching ornaments a part of me is like i kind of want to do like a cream corduroy stitch
that is kind of sounding good to me i like that i don't know i haven't really fully decided but
that's kind of what i've just been thinking um and that is pretty much it oh i went into um
thirco stitches which is the chicago needlepoint shop and first off the women were so nice we were
having the best time i fell back so i was just having like a really bad week so i was like more
quiet i mean we were chatting like they were great but um they were literally first off cutest
needlepoint store if you guys are in chicago they even have this area if you're new to needlepoint
that is set up so perfectly for beginners like seriously the most incredible store so cute and
they even sell it like a little area that's kind of like more boutique we got um a candle that
was just like our favorite drink when we were there um and yeah it was really cute so if you
guys are in chicago i know you guys have a lot of stores like in the suburbs we don't have that in
dallas it's all in the city like our fifth store oh that's the other thing that's good about next
week no it's this week me me is the new needlepoint shop is opening which i'm very excited about it's
in bishop arts which is by far my favorite like neighborhood in dallas i don't go as often as i
would like just because it's like a little bit out of the way but it is there's no neighborhood in
dallas that compares to bishop arts it is the there's no neighborhood in general that compares
to bishop arts like it is the coolest neighborhood everything ever everything everything is it ever
they have everything and a lot of it is like local small businesses it's very creative it's just the
coolest crowd the coolest people like it is just the coolest neighborhood and having a needlepoint
shop down there makes you really excited because it's gonna like draw me there more but anyway i'm
gonna be going to that as well which i'm excited about but this is my these are my works in progress
i'm gonna try to get as much done as possible but today's monday so i'm getting back to work
um we've been taking not that this is literally my whole i'm trying to do a needlepoint influencer
we took some really good meetings last week about needlepoint where we have so many things we should
have two drops in february fingers crossed uh but just for a lot of other like future stuff and we
also have like outside of needlepoint my friend of mine we have um samples coming for a launch
that we're hoping to do i don't want to like save the month but soon that is also surrounding one of
my hobbies that i think you guys are really going to like we are restocking the overalls too
shortly so if you guys are wanting the overalls get on the restock list because the second we
restock stuff it's gone like so quickly because so many people are on the restock list so get on
the restock list for the overalls we're also expanding um sizing so we're gonna have one more
size which is really good because long term i want to be like obviously in as many sizes
as possible but anyway i am gonna go for this vlog it's kind of been all over the place
but i just need to be by the fire and working all day
so love you guys and i will see you in my next video bye
