Hey boys and girls and welcome back to Graceville where God's love is everywhere.
It's me, Pastor Anastasia and I'm so super duper excited that you've joined me today
as we learn more about our best friend Jesus.
Today's special feature comes to us all the way from Brazil
where my friend Lais has prepared a beautiful song just for us.
Let's listen in.
One day you'll make everything new
Jesus
One day you'll bind everyone
Your former sins shall all pass away
No more tears
One day you'll make sense of it all
Jesus
One day every question resolved
Every angst was all left behind
No more fear
When we all get to heaven
What a day of rejoicing there will be
When we all see Jesus
We'll sing and shout the big praise
Hi guys, I miss you very much. God bless you.
Thanks Lais, that was amazing.
Boys and girls, remember if you want to share your gifts and talents with Jesus
please ask your parents or guardians to inbox me
and I'd be happy to share with our friends.
It's my favorite because it reminds me that it's nature time
and I'm so excited because our friend Ryan from Canada is
you know how it is with him, we never know who or what we're going to meet.
So to learn more about God's wonderful creation
you'll just have to come along with me.
Hello boys and girls and welcome again to Nature Time at Graceville.
Today we're going to be talking about razorfish. Let's tune in.
It is very easy to spot razorfish because they have thin flat bodies and pointy mouths.
They are called razorfish because they look like the blades of knives.
These interesting fish swim upside down which helps them find food.
Their backs are pale yellowish brown and their bellies are white with a dark colored stripe from their snout to their dorsal fins.
They can grow to about 14 to 15 centimeters long.
Razorfish have no teeth and so they swallow their food whole.
They eat many types of zooplankton and small crustaceans like eggs, larvae and sea shrimp.
Thanks to their flat bodies razorfish look like a thin rod or stick.
This helps them blend into their surroundings and hide from predators.
Swimming upside down also helps them hide among sea urchin spines and corals.
They can also hide by blending in with pointy leaves.
When they are being chased in open water they quickly swim away with amazing speed like regular fish.
The razorfish reminds me of Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12a.
It says, God's word is alive and working.
It is sharper than a sword sharpened on both sides.
The word of God teaches us what is right from wrong.
Bye boys and girls. Thanks for tuning in. See you next time.
That was interesting and we made it back in time to check in on Melissa.
I wonder how her week went. Well, let's go.
Hey Pastor Anastasia, I'm in big trouble, I think.
Oh no, what happened?
Well, Katie's mom let me borrow her tablet for an assignment, but I lost it.
I don't know where I put it.
I totally get your concern, Melissa.
Thankfully, there's nothing to loss for God to find or impossible for Him to do.
Wait a minute, that reminds me of our theme for this week, which simply says, God can help us.
Let me hear my friend Zay say it.
God wants to help us.
And our memory verse is found in Psalm 46 verse 1.
And it simply says, God is our refuge and strength.
A very present help in trouble.
Let me hear my friend say it.
The Lord is our refuge and strength.
A very present help in trouble.
Psalms 46 verse 1.
Great job everyone!
I hear you, but I'm going to be in lots of trouble if I don't find it.
Oh Melissa, I still believe that with God's help it's not impossible.
He knows exactly where it is and how to help us.
All we have to do is turn to Him in prayer.
You're not the only person to have lost something that seemed unretrievable.
In fact, the young man from the school of the prophets felt the same way when his axe head flew into the water.
Thankfully, a prophet was there to help him.
A man sent by God.
Can you guess who today's story is about?
A flowing axe head?
There's only one story like it in the entire Bible.
This has to be about the prophet Elijah.
That's right Dashani.
Today's story is about the prophet Elijah.
One day Elijah visited the school of the prophets in Gilgal.
It was a wonderful place.
They had only one problem.
They were running out of room.
So they came up with a plan to build a new one.
Off they went to the Jordan River to cut wood for the new school.
Everything seemed to be going well until...
Off a young man's axe head he had borrowed flew into the river.
Oh no! he cried out in distress.
Knowing the owner would be upset, he turned to the prophet for help.
Elijah reassured him that everything would be okay.
And threw a piece of stick into the water and up the axe head floated.
Grateful and relieved, the young man praised God for the miracle.
Wowzers! A floating axe head?
Yeah, with God, all things really are possible.
Most definitely!
Remember, no matter the problem, God can help us.
