Also developing now an 11 year old boy is dead and another boy is in the hospital
after colliding with a car on a motorbike in Brevard County. FHP says the kids drove right
into the car's path. Fox 35's Esther Bauer is live where that crash happened in Mims just off U.S.
One and Esther the kids were crossing a trail when they hit the car. Garrett witnesses tell us
this tragic accident happened right here at the intersection of Old Dixie and Parker. These kids
were trying to cross this part of the trail when they slammed right into a car. Now it is faint
but you can see some of those skin marks still here in the crosswalk. First responders who got
this call tried to do whatever they could to save both of these little boys life. Every person
involved left it all out there. They laid it out 100%. Riding on a trail turned tragic on Tuesday
for two 11 year old boys from Mims. It was the most unified life-saving effort that I have ever
seen in my life. Pastor Royce Scooter Morrison is a chaplain for Parish Medical Center. He was there
when the emergency department did whatever they could to save the boys. So we didn't stop to pray
we prayed in progress if that makes sense. The pastor then prayed with the families before they
were taken to Arnold Palmer. I just reached over and uh touched the young man by the hand and
prayed and asked uh asked for peace and safety. Tragically one of the boys died at the hospital
later that night. Florida Highway Patrol has not released any information on how the other child
is doing or his injury so far. It's just sad we prayed for the family you know and all that was
involved in it. Troopers say the kids were riding on dirt bike when they crashed into the left side
of a car that was driving over the intersection of the east coast regional trail. That driver was
not hurt and stayed on scene. The road was all blocked off. Witnesses say bikes and other vehicles
are always on the trail and they've seen close calls at this intersection before. I've had to
slow down for somebody to go across. The pastor is praying for everyone affected and wants the
community to come together to heal. Find peace where they need it, find healing where they need
it and I know this community wants to stand beside anyone uh who felt the impact of this tragedy.
And some people in the community that we spoke with are concerned about people using this trail
and some blind spots in the area. Specifically with this forest and all the overgrowth it can
be challenging to see cars making this turn. Florida Highway Patrol has not yet released
the names of the boys in this crash. Reporting live in Brevard County, Esther Bauer, Fox 35 News.
