Jets Fans Are BUZZING Over This...
Sep 10, 2026
It doesn't get any bigger than this. With the preseason winding down, with training camp now
over, now is the time to put away all the prognostications, all the rumors, and get
down to business. How are the New York Jets going to do this year? What's the future of the
organization? And how is it all going to play out? I will answer that to the best of my ability today
as you are tuned into Jets Digest. Guys, welcome back in. I'm Josh Byrne. Thank you so much for
all the support over the recent days, weeks, months, as me and Chris Gallagher continue to
bring you daily updates heading into the Jets season, which is fast approaching. It is now
August 27th, and September 13th is the first game, of course, against the Tennessee Titans.
Now, what really inspired me to do this video was I was watching a segment on WFAN, Evan Roberts,
Sean Morash, and essentially, Morash was getting on Evan for being positive and at least somewhat
idealistic about the possibilities of this upcoming Jets season, saying,
well, you know, Evan, the Jets have no chance, yada, yada, yada. So that inspired me, besides
the fact that we're approaching the season, to get down to brass tacks. How are the Jets going to do?
So let's get right into it. Obviously, a lot of pressure on Aaron Glenn this year,
and he's going to face a lot of noise from the tabloids in week one as he faces the Jets' former
coach, Robert Sollett. And I'm not going to lie, I think that this is a win out of the gate. I think
it's a win. I think the Jets just match up better against the Tennessee Titans than most other teams.
I really don't think the Tennessee Titans are very good. I know that they added a little bit
to their offense with Wandale Robinson, and they brought over a number of players, specifically
from the Jets, such as Jermaine Johnson. But I just don't see it. I don't really love their
offensive line. I think David Bailey's going to have multiple sacks in this game and really make
a name for himself, and the Jets get off to a 1-0 start. Things will take a turn, though,
in week two when they take on Green Bay in their home debut. Now, their home opener will not be a
fun time. The Packers, to me, are one of the top five rosters in the NFL. I don't really think
there's much that Aaron Glenn can do. While I think that Geno Smith is going to get off to a
relatively decent start in week one, I think against that Packers defense, it's going to be
tough sledding in week two. Jets fall to 1-1. And then week three, another NFC North matchup,
and this one at Detroit. I think Detroit's going to have a big bounce back here. I mean,
I think that last year a lot of things didn't really go their way, but they still have the
foundation of one of the top teams in the NFC, and this is a tough spot for the Jets to be in.
I'm going 1-2. Do I think it'll be close? Honestly, probably not. Week four now. Jets
heading into week four, 1-2. Another tough road game. Another tough road game against the NFC
North. Caleb Williams. People are so high on Caleb Williams this year, and I get it.
Last year, taking the Bears to the playoffs, everything he accomplished. I don't know if
I'm fully buying into the Bears to the extent that some are, but I am buying into them beating the
Jets up in this game. And I don't mean to sound negative, but guys, I mean, back-to-back-to-back
NFC North games that early in the season, that's not easy for anyone. Even teams that are expected
to make the playoffs, I think it's going to put Aaron Glenn in a tough spot, because let's be
real with it. Aaron Glenn is facing a lot of scrutiny even before the season starts. People
do not trust him after last year and the three wins and the zero interception. So if I'm right
and they start 1-3, he's going to be hearing about it. But I do think the Jets will pick up a win
in week five against the Cleveland Browns. I don't know why they're starting Deshaun Watson
outside of his contractual situation. So I guess I just answered my own question. That is why
they're starting him. I don't think it'll last long. I wouldn't even be surprised if it's Dylan
Gabriel or Shador Sanders back as their starter by this point. But nonetheless, I think the Jets
will have a nice bounce back effort here at home to improve the 2-3. And then, I'm sorry,
they're going to lose this game. I think the Patriots will take a decent step back this year.
I think they outplayed their talent. And I do think that the Mike Vrabel stories over the
offseason, I don't know the extent to which that'll actually have a liquid impact on their team,
but it's just not good vibes. And I think they will take a step back, but I do think they will
still beat the New York Jets at home on their turf. And the Jets will fall to two and four.
Now the Jets get into a bit of a lighter part of their schedule. Starts with hosting the Miami
Dolphins. The Dolphins might have the worst roster in the NFL this year. Definitely bottom three in
my eyes. I am intrigued by Malik Willis. I think he can be a really fun option. And depending on
how well their offensive line holds up, which I don't think it'll hold up that well, but there
is a possibility Malik Willis establishes himself as a franchise QB. But even if he does, I don't
think they'll be winning a lot of games down in South Beach. I have the Jets winning this,
improving the three and four on the season. Week eight rolls around. Jets taking on the Raiders.
That's another win. Four and four. And if the Jets start four and four, let me tell you,
fans are going to be excited. When was the last time the Jets were four and four? I mean,
I guess you have to go back to 2023 when they started four and three actually with Zach Wilson
the year that Aaron Rodgers got hurt. But I mean, last year starting oh and seven and then the year
before that with Rodgers, I believe they were two and five through their first seven games. So
four and four would be a nice start. And then week nine, Kansas City. I think Kansas City will
be a little better. I don't think they're at the level that they were winning the Super Bowls. I
just think they've lost a lot of talent over the years. But Andy Reid is still a great coach.
Patrick Holmes is still a great quarterback. And the Jets are playing in Arrowhead for this game.
So I'm taking the Chiefs here. And then week ten, the Bills. I mean, keep in mind, guys,
the Jets have a late bye week and they're facing these tough teams back to back, the Chiefs and
the Bills. This is going to be another loss, four and six. Now, I do want to make another prediction
here, and that is that I believe that somewhere around this time, Geno Smith, whether it be
because of lack of performance or unfortunately injury, and I don't like predicting injuries, but
he's a veteran guy and I'm not necessarily saying that. But if you read between the tea leaves,
Aaron Glenn really likes Cade Klubnick. And I do think that if the Jets fall outside of the
playoff picture and at four and six, you know, that that could still go either way, depending
on how the conference is doing. But I would suspect around this time, maybe a couple weeks
later, you would see that transition to Cade Klubnick. But here we go. Los Angeles Chargers,
week 11. This is going to be in L.A. This is going to be another loss, four and seven.
After this game is when I think they go to Cade Klubnick. And then week 12,
facing the Miami Dolphins in Miami. I'm going to say that's a win. So I guess that's kind of
take. I do have the Jets sweeping the fish, sweeping the Miami Dolphins. We'll see. I'm
sure Dolphins fans would disagree, but I really just don't have a lot of faith in that roster.
And I think the Jets are just more talented. Now, finally, at the end of November,
the Jets are finally getting their bye week. And at this point, they're five and eight. So
they'd essentially need to win out to make the playoffs. They're not going to win out.
They're taking on the Broncos December 13th. They're going to lose this game. I really worry
about the interior offensive line. And I also don't know if the Jets are going to be able to
generate a lot of pressure because the Broncos to me are a Super Bowl contender. Why? Not because
of Bo Nix, but because they have a top five offensive line and a top five defensive line.
Yes, the Jets are coming off a bye. Yes, they are at home, but this is a loss. Jets fall to
five and nine. Jets get a much more advantageous matchup when they travel to Scottsdale, Arizona,
to take on the Arizona Cardinals. This is where I really think Kate Klubnick is going to have his
first big performance at this point. And I do think the Jets will win this game to improve
to six and nine. Now we get into the final three games of the season versus the New England
Patriots. I think the Jets are going to win this game. Call me crazy. I do think the Jets will nab
a win at home against the Pats. As I said, I think the Pats are going to take a step back.
I had the Patriots beating the Jets earlier in this season. And I think this is going to be one
of those things that we look back on at the end of the year and be like, that was really a great
win. So the Jets win this game. They win this game and they improve to, what do I have them at?
Seven and eight? I believe I have them at seven and eight so far. And then Minnesota Vikings.
All right. Minnesota Vikings. Yeah, I'm going to say that this game, this one's tough, man.
The Minnesota Vikings are a weird team. They have a pretty solid defense, but you look at Kyler Murray,
is he going to hold up? How's that going to go? They're also at home, but I think coming off the
big win the week before, the Jets kind of go back to earth here, fall to seven and nine. And then
finally to close out the season, I have the Jets. I'm going to tell you that they're going to lose
this game. They're going to lose this game because the Bills will be fighting for seeding, which
means that they will be playing their starters in Buffalo. It's not going to happen. So you look at
the schedule. Week one, I think that's a win. One and O. Then I think they fall three straight times
down to one and three. Beat the Browns two and three. Lose to the Pats two and four. Beat the
Dolphins three and four. Beat the Raiders four and four. Lose three straight to fall to four and seven.
Beat the Dolphins. They're five and seven at the bye. Lose to the Broncos five and eight. Beat
Cardinals six and eight. Beat Patriots seven and eight. And then lose their final two games. So I
think I miscounted earlier, but if you were following, if they're at seven and eight with
two games to go, they have a legitimate shot the Jets do of being in the playoff picture. And I know
it sounds sad, but that would be a marketable improvement versus recent years where we were
out of the mix by Halloween and really even before that. So look, the broader point is have hope for
this season. Anything can happen and there is a lot more talent on this team. Now I predict seven
and ten. I think that's a little more optimistic than most people are going, but I do think the
consensus is right around six wins. But look guys, there's always teams that make noise that you
don't expect. And the Jets are objectively one of the more improved rosters in the NFL.
I have them going at seven and ten. Comment below. Let me know what you guys think of the 2026 New
York Jets and how things will shake out there. Comment below. Let me know. And as always guys,
let's go Jets.
