Breaking news at 5.03. DeKalb County police respond
to shooting calls overnight. One of
them leaves a person dead. The calls were about four miles apart.
Yeah, good day, Mark Teichner
has the latest information live
from the DeKalb County Police Headquarters. Mark.
Yeah, good morning, guys.
And we saw this vehicle that had been sprayed with bullets. There was
blood on it as it was being removed from the scene.
I still waited to get an update from
police but we did manage to talk to a woman who heard the gunfire.
I heard a bunch of just gunshots
going off. DeKalb County police tow away a bullet riddled
car after a shooting on Treasure Cove
leaves at least one person dead.
We saw investigators remove a silver Nissan that
had been shot multiple times as well as a white pickup from the scene.
Miranda Poore lives down
the street and heard the gunfire late Sunday night.
It was like two different, maybe three
different gunshots.
It just went boom, boom, and just and then and then it was crazy. She
immediately took steps to make sure her kids were safe.
I was like, get down. I have a 13 year old,
a five year old and a four year old.
So it was just like, get down. Poore called 911 and went
outside to see what was going on.
I did see a black car coming down the street with, you know,
no headlights. And it was obviously very suspect.
A few miles away, DeKalb County Police worked
another shooting, this one on Emerald Lake Drive.
We saw officers on scene but couldn't get any
information about what happened and who might have been shot.
Poore has a message for the gunman.
Stop. Just stop. Stop the gun violence. This is bad.
We haven't gotten any confirmation from police
that these two shootings are connected other
than the time and that they're fairly closely located.
We did talk with detectives on the
scene of that Treasure Cove shooting
and all they could tell us is that they were still trying to
piece everything together.
So when we get an update from them, we'll of course bring that
information to you right away.
Reporting live from DeKalb County Police Headquarters, I'm Mark
Good day, Atlanta.
We know you well.
