As the sun went down Tuesday night, investigators from Monroe
County traveled two hours north to Towanda in Bradford County.
Pocono Township Police Patrol cars were parked along
the corner of Pratt Avenue and Sayre Street
as several officers were seen going through the property
that court paperwork lists as belonging to Metallica Rose Harrison.
The 27-year-old is accused of killing her 3-year-old
son and husband Charles Harrison at Great Wolf Lodge in Scott Run.
Investigators say on Monday,
police responded to the family's room at the resort.
Their officers found Charles with several stab wounds to his chest.
Their son, who has not been identified,
was also found stabbed once through the chest.
That is so disturbing, yeah,
knowing that I'm living next to someone that did that.
Some neighbors who spoke to Newswatch 16 off-camera were left shocked
when they heard the news about
a family they say mainly kept to themselves.
I mean, I've heard sometimes, like,
a lot of yelling at times, but that's pretty much it.
They haven't really been out running through the neighborhood.
They just stayed by themselves up at the house.
Lee Henry has lived along Pratt Avenue for more than a decade.
He says his interactions with the Harrison family were brief,
but he remembers hearing the young boy play outside.
I've only seen him out back with the little boy
a couple of times during the summer.
I think it's very sad.
I didn't expect anything like that coming from this area.
News Watch 16 did reach out to the victims' family members.
We did not get a response.
Those who live nearby say they're sending prayers for a family
that is dealing with loss and the heinous crimes from one of their own.
God bless them. You got to be with them. That's all I can say.
The Monroe County District Attorney's Office has charged Harrison
with two counts of criminal homicide.
Court paperwork says she was taken to the hospital
for self-inflicted injuries and is receiving treatment.
She remains in police custody.
