AI GeneratedThe Detroit Lions are preparing for a critical Week 6 divisional matchup against the Green Bay Packers following their bye week. Head coach Dan Campbell faces significant lineup decisions, particularly regarding the offensive line, as the team looks to maintain its high-scoring momentum in a highly competitive division.
Well, with the bye week over,
the Lions now turn their attention to week six against
the Green Bay Packers.
And head coach Dan Campbell has got some major moves to be made,
big decisions that will
have a huge impact on the lineup going forward.
We're going to dive into those major moves,
the ramifications, and a whole lot more on
this edition of Lions Digest.
Hey, everybody, yours truly, Captain Lou here.

and the Lions here in 2026 be a part of the conversation
and all the live reaction right here on Lions Digest well
the bye week is history like we said
now it's time to start preparing for a couple
of divisional rivals starting with the Packers
on Monday and head coach Dan Campbell he's faced
with a dilemma some major moves that are going to
have to be made when it comes
to that starting lineup especially on the offensive side of the
ball the first question he's going to have to deal
with is what are we going to do with returning
center Cade Mays it was announced earlier today
in Dan Campbell's press conference that Brian
Branch and Cade Mays both will play against the Packers
but the workload right now is undecided
well let's focus on the offensive side
of the ball right now Campbell's looking at a potential
center rotation he said he's still back
and forth on the what they're going to do with Cade Mays
coming back from that wrist injury and Juice Scruggs
who's played exceptionally well in the
last few games for the Lions.
Now Campbell had this to say about Juice Scruggs. He's playing
pretty good football right now at this time.
He's done a good job and gotten better every week.
Now you start to wonder,
how do you mess with the chemistry of the team? What do you do with
Juice Scruggs? Another quote may be the case
to be made for Juice Scruggs. There's definitely an
argument to keep him rolling because he's played very good football.
He's rated as the number one
center through five weeks
when it comes to PFF in the National Football League so you've got
Cade Mays coming back you got Juice Scruggs
and you got Christian Mahogany what about Christian
Mahogany you ask it's that simple Christian Mahogany has earned
his spot as the starting
left guard in the rotation we've talked about it we talked about
at the beginning of the year
it wasn't guaranteed from head coach Dan Campbell
that Christian Mahogany was going to keep his
starting spot well now is there a case to be made
for Christian Mahogany to stay there it's
you know it's good news one way
or the other according to head coach Dan Campbell he's not
going to hold he's not going to play his hand there's
no doubt about it it's all going to come
down to practice and if you look at the chemistry thing
the longer we can get them all to play
together the more growth is going to transpire well
that's all good said and done however you
want to say it but when it comes down to brass tacks what
do you think the Lions should do with
the situation they've got it's a great situation to have
but with the Lions rolling right now on
the offensive side of the ball one asks what should they
do at center here's the debate I'm
going to ask you would love to see what
your comments are on this particular situation who
would you start at center against
the Green Bay Packers would you bring Cade Mayes in right out
of the chute start him right away perhaps ease him
in or keep Juice Drugs there until Mayes
is fully back how many plays is he going to make
is he going to play that's the question that we
all have to answer now let's take a look
at the team production for the Lions this offense is
getting on putting points
on the board every week it's absolutely correct and so the Lions again
you know he's weighing his options right now
that of course is head coach Dan Campbell, the team
numbers are definitely there, let's take one more look
at those as you can see they're one of the
best offenses in all of the National Football League, now we mentioned
that the Lions of course
they've got their big matchup first conference matchup against
the Green Bay Packers coming up
on Sunday 4:25 Eastern Time, now we talked about
the overs, all we traded yes on the overs throughout
the season, the number still hasn't been posted yet
with our brand new partner Kalshi, so I'm
going to potentially entice you maybe to trade yes
that the Lions are going to be able to beat
the Packers by at least two and a half points, now
when we're working with our brand new partner Kal
shi, we want to remind you
that you're trading directly against other users not the traditional
sportsbook, you're buying yes
or no contracts on the outcomes of events across sports politics
even the weather, now for this example again we're looking
at the potential of the Lions
I'm going to predict you'll win by at least two
and a half points, I'm going to trade yes that
they're going to do that and when you trade yes
that they're going to win by two and a half points
and you trade $25, your return is going to be $42.97
Now, why do I say trade $25? Well,
it's that simple. When you are interested
in using our brand new partner, Kalshi,
use the link in the description
and make sure you use the promo code digestNFL. When you do that,
your first $25 traded,
you'll get $55 deposited back into your account instantly.
it's that simple. All the games in the NFL trade on Calshi.
All right, with that being said,
let's talk a little bit about what's happening
with the Lions as they've got the big matchup
with the Packers. It's going to test our new lineup, no doubt about it.
Here's what's at stake
for the Lions. If you notice,
everybody in our division has got a winning record. No other
division can say that no other division comes
close each other division only one team the
leader is above 500 in our situation everybody's above 500
so this is huge let's take a look at
the trend for the lions with jared goff
when he's played against the packers now normally he averages
about 297 yards a game through the air
with the packers recently it's been 241 yards so their
defense clamps down on him a little bit that's why
the question that we've raised here with Dan
Campbell what's the decision that is he going
to have to make what's the right decision for him to
make against the Green Bay Packers
so that's one thing you've got to keep in mind in this we're
going to go back to the question I asked you one more time
who would you start at center for the
Lions would you come right out of the gate
with Cade Mays as your starting center as soon as he's
ready which it sounds like could be this Sunday he'll
be playing just not sure how much or do you
still roll with you Scruggs and have Cade Mays start
when he's fully back or do you maybe kind
of shift the three of them with Christian Mahogany Scruggs
of course has played some guard in the NFL
big valid questions that Dan Campbell a major decision
that he's going to have to make coming
up here toward before game time on sunday speaking
of the game time on sunday i want to remind
everybody that we've got our first watch along
our first captain lucas coming up sunday afternoon
