President Trump is back on the campaign trail today,
going to South Carolina.
It's part of a final push
for the midterms where Republicans hope his presence will
help stave off Democratic gains.
Doug Luzader joining us now live from Washington this morning
with a closer look at the president's agenda today. Good morning, Doug.
Good morning, the president looking
at expending a great deal of money and time
in the days ahead, and he says he's optimistic about Election Day.
November 3rd is the big day and I look
so forward to that evening of elect,
I just think we're gonna do great, I just feel it.
President Trump in North Carolina hoping
to keep Republican control of the Senate
and his strategy goes beyond personal appearances.
He posted on Truth Social,
I have spent or will be spending over $400 million by election day,
more than $300 million has already been spent.
It can make a difference and Republicans
are significantly outspending Democrats in some
of these key Senate races in particular.
But money isn't everything.
Not everything and Democrats are counting
on historical trends, the president's low
approval numbers and what they hope will
be heavy hitters out on the campaign trail.
The question is not how many people are gonna be able to move here.
The question is whether the people
who already live here can stay here and have a good life.
A former President Bill Clinton
was in Florida yesterday stumping for Democratic gubernatorial
candidate David Jolly.
And former President Barack Obama will also be campaigning,
especially in the critical
Michigan Senate race.
The president meantime was asked to look ahead to 2028
and said he hasn't spoken to Vice
President JD Vance about a possible endorsement.
Who would believe that?
I don't talk about it with him, he doesn't talk about it, it's early.
We are very early right now,
we have to get through the midterms, we'll see how it goes.
And the president's campaign blitz continues beyond
the Carolinas this week with stops
in Iowa, Florida, Georgia, and then Michigan on Sunday.
Back to you guys.
All right, Doug Luzader following the latest for us
this morning live in Washington. Thank you, Doug.
