Game of the Week Preview: Sachse Mustangs vs. Wylie East

All right, it's time to get ready for Thursday Night Lights, Fox 4's Game of the Week. Pitt Sachse versus Wiley East. We usually talk to them on Wednesday. Today we are talking to them on Thursday. Here to talk about our Game of the Week, sideline reporter Chris Mycoskie. Chris, tell me about this matchup. Well, you got me on game day, so even better, right? Sachse and Wiley East playing for a district championship. If you'll remember, at the start of the year, we announced our first nine matchups. Those are predetermined in preseason, but we wait until a week out to decide our matchups in week 10 and week 11 because we want these types of games, ones that either determine a district champ or a playoff spot. We've got a great one here. Sachse is 8-0. Wiley East is 7-1. Both teams are 5-0 in District 9-6A. District play is all that matters. I know you told me that at the beginning of the season. who's favored in this game who's expected to win i know anything can happen as high school football you know i think it's a toss-up in all honestly both all honesty both of these teams have been playing incredibly well through district play they've both been tested as well so i don't know that we can really name a favorite i mean saxey is coming off a year where they were mediocre by their standards but they had a lot of sophomores on that team who got battle tested and have put together an amazing campaign this year to still be unbeaten while wiley east last year did win a district title so maybe expected to do it again but you know these are two teams who are really evenly matched right now you know we're looking forward to seeing this game are there other any other district titles on the line this week there are plenty let me take a look at kind of what's on the docket for uh the racks i do at halftime of every game i go through the biggest ones around the area other than ours and tell you a couple that catch my eye here melissa at mckinney north is really interesting if north can beat melissa that was set up a district title between the bulldogs and frisco lone star next week um let's see here trinity and haltem is really big haltem's been on the struggle bus for just a couple of weeks before that looked like they might win a championship but trinity could play ld bell and that big rivalry one of the biggest dfws yes that could be for a district title next week and one that is really maybe under the radar but exciting on in fort worth a couple of fort worth isd teams od wyatt and arlington heights are both 5-0 in district play, both 8-0 overall, and they play for a district title this weekend. Chris, I saw Trinity play a couple weeks ago. I think I told you about it. They played against my mentee school, and that score was, yeah, Trinity's a good team. So I definitely, man, Trinity-LD Bell, that would be a really good matchup. We've done that game several times. One of the best atmospheres in DFW when those schools get together. and we'll decide our week 11 game of the week either late friday night or early saturday morning and your mentees team is on the list there it is possible really altum versus irving macarthur could be a game where the winner is in the playoffs and the loser is out and we love that kind of drama in week 11 we need the drama and yeah man the atmosphere at trinity was that the lights and stuff man felt like college chris mykoski thank you so much man see you next week yes sir
