Just days from the midterm elections,
Vice President J.D. Vance returned to Texas to sway Republican voters,
or to try to, in a very tight Senate race.
Vance was in Weatherford this afternoon,
his second visit to Texas this month.
President Trump has rallied three times in Texas in October,
each event focusing on building Republican support
and turnout for Senate candidate Ken Paxton.
Fox 4's Dionne Anglin, live in Weatherford tonight. Dionne.
Hi there. That's right.
They call this the largest crowd ever assembled solely
for Vice President J.D. Vance.
There were hundreds more people outside of the hangar where we were as
they watched a huge monitor that included a live stream from the stage.
Well, the vice president arrived here in Fort Worth at 11:30,
then made his way to Parker County about 2:20 this afternoon.
He took the stage and then he wrapped up.
About exactly 30 minutes later,
he echoed the sentiment made by other candidates who spoke.
Conservatives are calling
this the most important election of their lives.
The theme, defend our future.
Now, Vice President Vance, within his 30-minute rally cry,
dedicated more than 18 minutes
to attacking Senate hopeful James Tallarico.
Perhaps a sign of how tight this race
is between Tallarico and Ken Paxton.
Then I'm going to ask you to do exactly what
President Trump did after Butler, Pennsylvania,
and that is fight, fight, fight to save Texas and America.
And I need you to send a message to every far left activist,
to everybody who expects
Texas to surrender, that in five days,
Texas is not surrendering a damn thing.
Vote Ken Paxton for Senate. God bless you.
Now, Vance's appearance is part of a final stretch push by national
and state Republicans to energize turnout for the November 3rd election
in this area. Parker County solidly red,
so it is not surprising that it was selected as the backdrop
for this final push as we move closer toward November 3rd.
