The Jets Have Hit Rock Bottom...

I can't believe it's gotten to this point.
The Jets have been a futile organization for well over a decade now,
but Woody Johnson, Aaron Glenn, and the entire franchise
is now at what seems to be yet another low point
until the next one comes around, just around the corner.
Yesterday, the Jets lost 38-33 to the Las Vegas Raiders,
dropping them to a pitiful 2-6 on the season,
Right around where the Jets normally are this time of year,
but what was even worse is that the stadium was taken over
by Raiders fans in what was already a half-empty stadium,
and it got so loud while the Jets were on offense
from the opposing fans that it even led to a false start penalty.
Committed by Olu Fashinu.
Yeah, things are getting pretty bad.
They were already bad and they're getting worse.
But let's talk about it today on Jets Digest.
I'm Josh Byrne.
Guys, thank you for all the continued support.
It really does mean a lot.
If you're enjoying the daily updates from me
and my boy Chris Gallagher,
please do consider subscribing if you are not already.
Raiders fans, take over MetLife Stadium.
You know, some people used to call it Jet Life Stadium.
No.
It...
I mean, it might as well be Giant Stadium
or we don't like we don't even have a stadium.
And can you blame the fans?
No, you can't, because this organization is run
by a clown named Woody Johnson, who continuously
meddles in the team's affairs,
says ridiculously cringeworthy statements.
And I mean, just continues
to raise ticket prices year after year for a product that
does not ever get any better.
I'm 26 years old, the last time this team made the playoffs I was 10,
and the last time they had a winning season I was 15 years old.
And they didn't make the playoffs that year, by the way.
And it just continuously gets worse.
The standard? Well, according to Brandon Stevens,
it's play better, finish, do our job.
But are the Jets really instituting that kind
of standard? It doesn't seem like it.
And for Aaron Glenn, his days are numbered.
I traded yes on Kalshi on Glenn being
the next coach to be fired in the NFL
for a max payout of $53.62.
Right now, it's a dogfight between him and Shane Steichen
for who will be the next NFL head coach to be let go.
But if you want to...
Chime in. You can go on Kalshi and trade directly against other users,
not the house like traditional sports book.
You can buy yes or no on contracts on the outcomes across
the pitiful Jets, politics, or even the weather.
So if you're interested in trying out Kalshi,
you can use the link in the description
and pin comment and code digest NFL to get $55 added
to your account instantly when you trade your first $25.
Now, for the New York Jets, I mean, where do we even go from here?
They blow yet another chance to win.
This is a weekly thing.
There's really been one game
this season where they thoroughly got beat,
and that was against Tyson Bajent and the Chicago Bears.
Another game where Aaron Glenn did not have
his defense come prepared in the slightest.
And if you look at the Jets' offense,
there's a lot of reasons to be happy.
Braylon Allen, by the way, is looking like an elite running back.
And I know that there's talks of Brees Hall being traded.
And while I don't like the Garrett Wilson trade talks,
nor do I believe that will happen,
Brees Hall, look, he's a good player.
But when you watch Braylon Allen,
how do you not come away thinking that he's
not the better player of the two?
Guy looks like Jim Brown when he's running.
Guy is thunder.
He looks like a mini Derrick Henry.
And I know that that's a little hyperbolic to say, but is it?
I mean, you look at what Braylon Allen's done since he took over.
With Brees Hall going down to injury,
and he's been nothing short of one of the five best running backs
in the National Football League.
Backed up by stats.
I mean, Braylon Allen, 147 yards today, has 418 on the season.
He's an absolute monster, and he continues to do that.
And A.D. Mitchell.
He really played in his second or third healthy game,
123, I think he had more than that.
I think he had, what did he have yesterday?
That was 123 going into the game.
I think yesterday he had, yeah,
nine catches, 142 yards and a touchdown.
There was another long deep ball
that he probably would tell you he should have caught,
and that would have put him upwards of 200 yards.
The Jets did make an effort to target Garrett Wilson, that was nice,
but let's be honest, this was on the defense.
This was on the defense.
And it was on Aaron Glenn and their lack of execution.
And again, the broader point of this video
is that this team, this franchise,
is so futile, so incompetent, that the fans are done.
They're done supporting this product.
Disappointed again.
It's like you hear the same stuff every week.
It's an understatement to say we're all disappointed.
They're all disappointed every week,
but if the franchise was actually so disappointed,
they would act upon it and change their ways,
and they just don't do that.
Garrett Wilson called it out.
Chris posted a short about this.
He said, just execution and crunch time
are keys to victory we have each week.
Red zone two minute.
It's got to show.
It's got to show up.
It can't just be keys to victory.
It's got to be when we execute on when we come in Monday,
and that hasn't been the reality.
I'm surprised Garrett Wilson hasn't requested a trade yet.
I believe he likes being here, but at the same time,
when he comes out to the media
and he says, no, I don't want to be traded,
no, I love it here, no, I, like, to me, it
comes across as he's saying the right things,
but if the Jets actually did approach him
about a trade, there's not a doubt in my mind he would accept,
and how could you blame him?
Playing for this team has got to feel like
a prison sentence if you've been on the Jets
for multiple years, because all they do is lose.
And the Jets have had great players, or at least very good ones.
Garrett Wilson, Brees Hall, but then
you think back to Quinton Williams.
You think back to Sauce Gardner, Jamal Adams,
even though he didn't exactly go out on a high note,
and that trade turned out to be good.
And by the way, the Sauce Gardner trade
is turning out to be incredible for the Jets.
But the point being
is that they've had good players drafted by the team,
but the team's continued comedy of errors
and missed chances and failures.
...have ultimately led to the same final destination for all of them,
and that is to be traded away.
And that's what you have to do when you're rebuilding.
Unfortunately, the Jets have been rebuilding for seemingly 15 years.
There's a cost of failure. The Jets spent money.
They're $13 million over the cap, total payroll over $300 million.
They've lost the fan base. They've lost the trust of their fans.
Now, I think they lost the trust of their fans a long time ago,
but when you see the black and white all over the stadium,
And you hear the fans of the opposing team that loud.
And it wasn't like it was bad weather.
They're done.
It's embarrassing.
They're finally, the Jets fans are making a statement.
They will not continue to invest
in this product with these insane prices
for a team that holds nobody accountable,
brings in coach after coach that is inexperienced,
and makes mistakes that inexperienced coaches make.
They get lambasted by the media, appropriately so,
mocked by NFL fans worldwide, appropriately so.
You have players like Ashton Jenty coming out
and basically saying that there's players on the Jets
who don't feel like tackling, and instead of defending his players,
Aaron Glenn doesn't say a thing about it.
In fact, has his defense come out
and basically prove Ashton Jenty right
that there's players on this team who don't want to tackle.
And that's with Ashton J.T. getting benched himself.
But his point proved correct.
And the Jets just took it.
Because they're pushovers.
They're a losing organization.
They're beyond that.
They are entering unprecedented waters.
They already have entered those waters.
The longest active playoff drought in North American sports.
Let's see.
Garrett Wilson, it's disappointing to be at 2-6, no doubt.
That's not the end goal we've got in this thing.
At the end of the day, I take a lot of pride in each week.
Going out and improving the record,
but just playing good football for the Jets name,
for the Wilson name.
Good for him.
What else can he say?
He's a great player and he's stuck in this disgusting franchise.
The only thing I can say is that this team
is a lot more talented than last year and
you can see it, but it comes down to coaching.
And for me, it's clear that in terms of the on-field results,
it's obviously based on
a coach that should not be here,
but the longer term trend and results and perception
Of this franchise, that's on Woody Johnson, that's on the owner.
He needs to sell the team as soon as possible.
Do I think that's going to happen? Absolutely not.
But we all know it.
And it's just a fact.
Let me know what you guys think down in the comments below,
and as always, let's go Jets.
