Big Rock Italian Chophouse launches new happy hour

Can you see that coming? Oh, man. It's a surprise there. Big Rock Italian Chop House launching a new happy hour. And so our BFF, Chef Chris Mayer. Our new BFF. That's right. Welcome, welcome, welcome. Thank you for having me. Okay, you're making something fancy for us, but can we just get into the ambiance, into the vibe of Big Rock? Sure. Because it's the place to be. It really is. What are you looking for as far as the ambiance and the vibe? Well, for happy hour, for example, let's say we mosey in. What are we doing, Chris? Are we going up to the bar? Are we ordering food? Is there food? I would... The menu is pretty extensive for happy hour. You're going up to the bar. So for our happy hour, that's going to be in our main bar downstairs or in the rock club upstairs for our cigar club. That's going to be from 4 to 6 Monday through Friday. We've got a pretty extensive bar menu, a good majority of the items out here, as well as probably... Five or six that you don't see out here as well. Any of our happy hour items are going to be $5 off their normal price during that happy hour. And then there's also $5 off selected signature cocktails as well as a selection of certain wines as well. All right, we've got questions for you, so put a pause on that for a sec. What are you putting on the plate there? This is whipped ricotta. So we take hand-dipped ricotta, a little bit of lemon zest and lemon juice and some Maldon sea salt. Whip that up until it's melted. Nice and smooth, and then we're gonna top that with an apricot marmalade, honey, toasted hazelnuts, fresh sliced prosciutto that we slice in-house to order, and then we're gonna finish it with just a little bit of olive oil, aged balsamic, fresh Parmigiano-Reggiano. It's saying all the right things. I mean, the combo, the flavor combo is awesome. It's definitely one of our top-selling appetizers, for sure. And, you know, having it on that happy hour, that extra $5 off. Yeah. That never hurt anybody. I'd like to just sit there and watch you make it, because just all of the steps. It's like a work of art. Yeah, it really is. I mean, you're so smooth, and then the honey is like watching a lava lamp just spill over top of it. Nice. Thank you. Chris, so tell us more about this Upstairs Cigar Club. So is that... Is that heavy cigar smoke, or you guys are figuring a way to open some windows and vent it out a little bit? Because I don't want my hair smelling like cigar smoke. It's not vented via windows, but we do have a premium HVAC system, which pulls the smoke out for us. Even better. And I have been out there on multiple occasions where the club is packed, and everybody has a cigar lit, and you still... You wouldn't know. Wow. Obviously, you can smell the smoke if you're in a cigar club, right? But it definitely is hands down the best cigar club that I've been into where we also have a high ceiling, which makes a huge difference. It's not very low, so that smoke has an area to dissipate into. Cigar Club, if you go in, there's still going to be the remnants of cigar smoke, but I... Wait, that's part of the reason you're going to the Cigar Club. This is the best spot, if you ask me. I like the smell of it. You do? I do. I've been known to smoke a cigar every now and again. You are? Well, our selection of cigars is top-notch. Thank you very much. We do have a... Locker holders that have exclusive... Not necessarily rights, but yeah, they have exclusive humidors. I think we have 186 lockers. And then to get upstairs for non-locker holders, if you dine with us, it's $100. If you don't dine, it's $150. Oh, this is exclusive. Very, very exclusive. And then we do live music upstairs every Tuesday. Tuesday, and we hold special, like... Events upstairs as well, where we'll fill the bar with food.
