Big story on Action News is breaking news.
This on the urgent search for a 10-year-old girl
who's been missing since last week.
Federal investigators and police have spent the last couple
of hours in this wooded area at Vine and Daggett Streets.
This in West Philadelphia.
Chopper 6 was over that search just a short time ago.
The child, Jalasia Alford, was last seen on October 26th.
Action News is Walter Perez live for us with new developments
on what we're learning about this breaking news.
Walter.
I'm Craig Gray. Action News has confirmed that while the investigation
into the disappearance of Jalasia Alford brought them here
to Cobbs Creek Park a short time ago,
the remains they found here a short time ago are animal remains.
So, it's back to square one in this case. In the meantime,
only Action News spoke with the youngster's biological father.
Jalasia Alford's biological father shared this video with Action News
of himself along with his daughter from when she was four years old.
Good birthday.
Tonight, Nazir Alford says he's having a tough time keeping his
emotions in check, more than a week after his daughter went missing.
All I'm concerned with is myself. I'm not concerned about nothin' else!
If you can see me and you got my child,
I'm not concerned about nothing else.
Investigators, including the FBI,
were back on the 500 block of North Simpson Street
where Jalasia was last seen on October 26th.
Sources tell Action News they're trying
to sort through conflicting accounts regarding this case,
but the focus centers on the home where Jalasia
was in foster care here on North Simpson.
In the meantime, Nazir says he has dedicated
his life to gaining custody of Jalasia
after she entered the foster system a few years ago.
Even as his focus now is simply to bring her home.
Daddy gonna stay strong, because you wise,
for your age, and I just want you to be safe, boo.
And you just contact somebody, because daddy gonna get you.
Ain't no ifs, ands, or buts. Daddy gonna get you.
According to investigators involved in this case,
Delasia's foster parents have been questioned,
but as of tonight, no suspects have been identified,
and no arrests have been made.
All that Nazeer offered pleads for anyone with information.
Get my child back, period. Ain't no ifs, ands, or buts.
Get my child back. I don't got no rat.
I don't got no rat. Get my child back, period.
So once again, the investigation continues.
Jalasia Alford stands 4 feet 11 inches tall. She's about 70 pounds.
She was last seen wearing a blue school uniform. Anyone
with further information is asked to contact Southwest Detective.
