A man is accused of killing one woman and assaulting two others inside a salon in the East Mount Airy section of Philadelphia.
Breaking news and the manhunt for a suspect accused
in a horrific attack on three women.
Take a look at this man right here.
He is wanted for killing one of those women
and sexually assaulting another.
Action News reporter Corey Davis live for us now in Center City
where investigators, Corey, updated the media just a short time ago.
Investigators are telling us they were able to watch the entire
traumatic ordeal from surveillance cameras inside the salon and they
tell us they saw the suspect apparently tried to shoot all three women.
They tell us his gun worked on one of those victims.
It jammed apparently on the other two and then that's
when they fought for their lives to get out of there.
Exclusive surveillance video showing one victim running out
of a beauty salon, followed by a man accused
of sexually assaulting women in the shop
and killing one of the victim's co-workers Monday afternoon.
Investigators saying this man randomly entered
the shop and did not know them.
A witness saw one victim screaming for help.
She got a lot of blood come out and...
She said, call the police, police!
Today, the District Attorney's Office
announced several charges including murder
as investigators asked for the public's help
to find 33-year-old Jamal Pastoria,
seen here in a mugshot from a previous drug-related arrest.
He should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.
Pastoria is accused of shooting
and killing 34-year-old Ophelia Hernandez-Camil
at around 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.
That's around the time officials say he walked
into the Dominican salon on Stanton Avenue near Washington Lane
in the city's East Mount Airy section.
Investigators say he fired off one shot into the ceiling
and then forced all three women
into the back room where he locked them in with him.
He then proceeds to, um...
Have one of those women perform a sexual act on him while he continues
to physically assault at least one of the other women with the firearm.
Investigators say they were in there for six minutes
and that he shoots Hernandez Camille
and then tried to shoot the other women, but his gun appears to jam.
Despite the fact that a co-worker friend of theirs had been.
Some were executed in front of them, essentially.
Actually.
They fought back.
Officials say he ran, but stopped
at the register before walking out the store.
A short time later, he's seen on video at a nearby convenience store
purchasing a soda where his face is unobscured.
And investigators right now, once again,
still working on trying to track down Pastoria.
In the meantime, we have learned some about his past.
Investigators telling us he's a felon
because of a conviction from when he was a juvenile,
telling us that they cannot provide much details
on that because that case involved a minor.
So as for the victim who lost her life,
her co-workers say they called her Bella.
She was a wife and mother of two.
