That blue wave also swept over Pennsylvania and New Jersey,
flipping seats in several key races.
Today, voters were talking about the changes
that will be coming to their districts.

It's been really interesting to talk to voters here today
because we've heard a mix of reaction to these election results,
and that's why this area and the 1st Congressional District
is so closely watched across our area.
These were blitzes contributing to that national blue wave.
I had no idea that we were going to get such a change in...
Our government in its entirety.
Astonished voters in Pennsylvania
and New Jersey the day after Democrats dominated the midterm elections.
Some happy.
I cried tears of happiness this morning.
Some heartbroken.
I was devastated.
In Pennsylvania's 1st District,
incumbent Republican Brian Fitzpatrick lost to Democrat Bob Harvey.
In the Lehigh Valley, Bob Brooks flipped
the 7th Congressional District blue, defeating Ryan McKenzie.
In New Jersey.
These are the kind of people we need.
Fighting for us down in Washington, and it doesn't end there.
Governor Mikey Sherrill celebrated two
House seats flipped in the Garden State,
including a shocker in the 2nd District of the Jersey Shore,
Cape May Mayor Zach Mullock, defeating Republican Jack Bandrew.
We took a congressional seat
and just won a seat that literally last week
Koch reported as solid Republican.
I wish him the very best. I wish him success.
His success is our success.
It was a district that Van Drew won by 17 points two years ago.
For a Democratic challenger like Jack Mullock to be successful there,
he really needed a perfect storm.
He needed Democrats to be energized, Republican turnout to be dampened,
and for independents to break decisively his way.
And we saw all of that come to fruition in this midterm.
Now, voters wait to see how
and if this new wave will deliver on campaign promises made.
Personally, it's more about just gas prices.
That's all I care about right now.
I'm a little worried, especially in Washington,
that not many things are going to get done the next two years.
Now, experts say voters expect to see results
with these new elected leaders in place over the next two years,
or the political pendulum could continue to swing back
and forth as we head into 2028.
