This is going to be sensory overload because today I am sharing my all-time favorite estate sale,
garage sale, yard sale, thrift store finds, all of the goodies with you. But before we get started,
hit that notification bell because I don't want you to miss when I post a brand new video.
I'm sure now that we're all safe at home right now, you've probably been going through cupboards
and organizing and getting rid of things and kind of rediscovering stuff that you bought years ago.
And while I was searching through my little buffet cabinet of treasures,
I found my cherub baby reservoir vase and I forgot how much I loved it. This sweet vase is
like all like a bisque or a porcelain. I'm still learning my glasswares here. But it's called a
reservoir vase because you fill up this ring-like reservoir with water and you can poke the most
beautiful blooms in there. And these kind of vases are so great if you're not like an expert
floral designer because literally all you do is poke them in there and they look so cute and
amazing. This is such a cool $5 garage sale find and I've never seen anything like it before.
I was lucky enough to go to one last estate sale before all of the lockdown quarantine stuff began
in the United States. So, you know, memories. Let's go back. I'm going to time warp you back
to the estate sale with me. So last night I was on Facebook marketplace and it's like my new
favorite place, right? And I saw this post for these giant antique tapestries and needlepoint
things and fancy mirrors, like totally my vibe. And as I was reading the post, it said that it
was for a giant farm estate and the woman was letting people shop the estate by appointment
only before it's open to the public. So that's what I'm doing this morning. I have an appointment
and I'm really hoping to score some treasures. I'm hoping that I can grab some clips of things
while I'm there for you to see. I'm just going to play it by ear, see how it goes. But yeah,
I'm hoping that I can film a little bit for you when I'm in there because it sounds like it's
going to be really, really cool. Well, I don't know if this is it, but it's an awesome farmhouse.
This sale made me a little bit nervous though, because nothing had price tags on it. So yeah.
So I just started making like a little pile because I think one of my biggest tips for going
to an estate sale or any garage sale, and that matter if things are not priced, it's best if
you kind of like bundle your things. So like if you're finding like, you know, five or 10 items,
how much is this pile of things? Rather than going, how much is this? How much is that? People
are more likely to give you a great deal if you're purchasing like a lot of items. So I started kind
of creating a little bit of a bundle. I stashed away on the couch and I turned and saw this
beautiful, dusty candelabra chair baby clock set. I'm looking at this set. Oh my gosh, this is amazing.
I hope I can afford that. This is so good. Beautiful marble and cherims. Yes. That's like
my birthday present. All I saw was gold and like fancy babies. And so I was all over it. And I
forgot about the pile that I had started. And my heart was set on this beautiful, beautiful set.
Okay, I got to be careful because I think the...
Don't tip. Oh, I'm gonna get ready. Oh, it's okay. Okay. Man, these things were tippy in the car.
She gave me some old blankets and stuff to pad them with, but they're so
heavy and like, you know, like wobbly for driving around in the car. I was a little nervous.
But they're safe. They're home. So I just have to make it through the door and figure out where
my little babies are going to live. I thought it would be amazing on our mantel at home. And my
birthday was just around the corner. So I was like, you know what? I texted my husband. I was
like, can I buy my own birthday present? Like, do you do that? He's so nice. Like, you know,
like I just love decorating and I love treasure hunting and stuff. So he said, go for it. So
hallelujah. I do have to get the clock worked on. I have a key that works for it. And apparently
the lady said it has a chime and everything. That's really beautiful, but I have yet to hear
that. But right now it just looks pretty up on the mantel. And I put really neat candlesticks in
there. I was going to put all heirloom white because I thought that would look like really
elegant in there. But then I wanted to go a little more fun and whimsical. So I added the heirloom
white, pink, and then also some pink and gold polka dot candles, like an accent candle. It
makes it a little more exciting and kind of puts like a fresh, modern take on an otherwise
a little bit uptight antique. In my dining room, I have this really cool, super heavy,
old metal French mirror. And I think it's iron and it's in that really good old gold, you know,
that muted, yummy gold, that one. Oh, it's so pretty. It's got all these like Gothic faces
and like vines and filigree stuff on it. It's so cool and unique. I've never seen anything like it.
And it's actually got the original beveled glass in it, which is so extra special. I scored this
baby on Facebook marketplace for only 50 bucks. And it's definitely going to be something that
I'm going to keep forever. I'm kind of a lamp freak. And up in my like storage area, we have
this like cool studio space that I'm starting to convert. So I promise I'm going to show that to
you guys when it's like ready and organized. But I store like some of my lamps up there because
like if I go to an estate sale or a garage sale and they have like a really great lamp there,
cheap, like I always get it and I don't always need it. And I don't always have like a table
for it, but I can't leave it behind. I got a pair of these really cool. They're Art Deco
reproduction lamps. So they are not old, but they look so cool. And they're naked ladies. That's
my favorite thing. You know that. But it's so freaking cool. And it's like in this neat matte
black. And I think I need to put a different light bulb in there. That one's kind of ugly.
But I just love the way this one looks in the dining room. And it's like extra tall and good.
$20 garage sale find. This is an antique aquarium stand. And I only know this because I went down
the Google wormhole, like looking at some other stuff I didn't need. And all of a sudden it popped
up and I was like, Oh, that's what my thing is. But I got this at an antique store for only $75.
And it's really cool. For a while we had like our TV on top of it. But now I love it to just
to house vases, vases and candelabras. It's really neat because it's like thin and long. It doesn't
take up much floor space at all. And the fact that it was an aquarium stand in its previous lifetime,
I think is extra awesome. Our guest room is pretty small. So I have this beautiful
little antique marble top table next to the bed. And I got it at a garage sale for only $10. It
was such an amazing find the marble is in perfect condition. Like the wood is beautiful has zero
cracks. I just like oil it every once in a while and it looks amazing. The people that I bought it
from thought the table was so ugly. Like they told me like best this table is ugly. You can have it
for 10 bucks. It was amazing. Like can you imagine 10 bucks on top of it? I believe this lamp is
alabaster and marble. It looks like there are two different kinds of stones. But it's all
antique and carved and then the top lampshade was like a separate garage sale find that I got.
But the lamp was only five bucks. Isn't that cool? It reminded me of something that I saw
on like an anthropology catalog once but they probably didn't use real marble or real stone.
So it's amazing to get something that's an antique a quality piece for only five dollars.
In my bedroom I posted I'm like looking at it right now. I posted this picture on Instagram
a handful of times and everyone asked me about this painting and they like want to buy it from
me because it's so beautiful but I don't want to get rid of it. It's so pretty. I got this at a
citywide garage sale for a dollar fifty and it's this beautiful I think it's an oil painting
and it's all like eden roses in a little blue antique mason jar. It's like a giant wad of
romantic roses stuffed in a glass jar and I love it. A buck fifty. The launch of my website is just
around the corner and I don't want you to miss it. I'd love to send you a personal invitation to
shop the launch so don't forget visit thevintagebombshell.com and I'll see you in the next video.
