Easy Pikachu DIY - Pikachu Ornament or Weeble

Hello, welcome back to Red Ted Art. Look at this cute Pikachu. He was an idea by the amazing Kitty Cat.
Thank you so much for suggesting to make Kitty Cat. Now this one hasn't got any coins in it, so that one doesn't stand up.
This one is a stand up Pikachu. So however much you play with him, he will stand back up.
Aren't they adorable? They only take five minutes to make and they're really, really cute.
Now this one, like I said, this one is a standing up one like our minions. You might have seen those before.
And this one, I'm going to make a little hole in the top and I'm going to use it as a Christmas decoration.
And I think it will be seriously adorable. Anyway, should we see how they're made? Let's go and take a look.
Now to make your little Pikachu, you're going to need the inside of a Kinder Surprise egg.
Now, guys in America, you don't get Kinder Surprises. I'm really sorry.
However, you do get lots of toys in these kind of shapes.
You know, if you get a yellow one of these or you can get those like more square.
So it's actually the same shape as this, just a bit bigger. So look out for yellow ones and you can still make it.
So from the ornament point of view, no problem. From a weeble point of view, you'll just have to add more coins for it to work.
You'll also need some tape, obviously some coins, bits of paper and some very good glue.
Now I have used, made these before with a different glue and to be honest, the paper just came straight off because it wouldn't stick.
So this is a really good brand called Anita's Tacky Glue. I can put the information below if you want.
Or, you know, try and just see if you can find that locally. It's a really, really, really good glue.
So the first thing I want to do is tape together my coins because you don't want them falling over.
So they all need to be together. So I'm going to just stick some tape around like so.
To be honest, you might want a few more, but I think that'll work.
We'll see, won't we? Tape, tape, tape.
Then I'm going to have to open this up and put loads of glue on here.
I have to use a stick because this is almost empty with glue and I can't get it out otherwise.
It's my last bits of this amazing tacky glue. I'm going to be ordering some more, that's for sure.
I might put loads of glue on here. A bit more, I think.
That's quite good, I've got a bubble on it.
There we go. Lots of glue.
Then carefully place it at the bottom and let it dry.
Now you do really need to let it dry, otherwise it's not going to work.
There we go. Let it dry. Don't start playing with it. I just wanted to test it briefly, but obviously that's that.
Now we need some eyes.
I'm going to draw some Pikachu eyes and cut them out.
Do them a little bit bigger than you think because then you can always cut them down.
There we go. Now we need the ears.
For that I'm going to cut a piece of yellow paper.
Almost got all your bits. You now want a little zig-zaggy tail.
I find this one is almost the hardest bit.
All the rest of Pikachu is quite easy.
I don't know, it just confuses me.
You don't want it too thin, otherwise it's going to break.
There we go. I think that will do.
Then you take your wonderful, amazing glue.
Glue it all together.
There we go, there's a nice big blob there.
Get your front. I'm going to find where I want the eyes.
And the cheeks.
And put some on the back.
Now, if you want to do this as an ornament,
you need to get something really sharp first and make a hole at the top.
And then string some string through.
Which is a bit fiddly, I have to admit, because these are quite solid.
But I think these are quite cute.
These would look amazing as Christmas ornaments as well.
And then finally, some glue for the tail.
Do put a bit more than you need because you do want this to stay on.
And Pikachu's tail peeping out like that.
Now this glue will dry clear, so it will be fine.
Actually, you know what, I want this ear on the other side.
That bit there.
Where did the lines? I just prefer it this way.
Now the last little bit.
You do need a marker pen for this.
And that is to put on Pikachu's mouth and eyes.
Uh, nose.
Okay, now, make sure you let it dry fully.
I think the coins keep knocking it over.
And then once it's dry, we can have a little weebly wobbly.
So, we'll come back at the end.
