I will now show you how to properly sew on a Sako button,
a button that has a neck.
I take the thread, stitch it through here,
so that it really holds well.
I stitch over the button,
stitch back through the hole,
through the fabric,
and back into the button.
And here it is important
that I put my fingers in here,
because the neck is this distance between the fabric and the button.
Now I stitch through again,
put my finger back in,
a well-sewn Sako button,
which is stitched over three times with each pair of holes,
so a total of six times.
It will then hold for life.
And for the last time, I stitch through here,
through the button, but not through the fabric.
I turn the thread a few times around the neck,
so that's the neck of the button,
and then I stitch through here,
back to the back.
The neck has to be at least as long as the fabric is thick,
through which you stitch.
Then it has a nice space here.
At the back, I make a small backstitch again,
a button again,
and pull the button through the fabric.
You make the world a better place with every well-sewn button.
