Welcome to the third part of the Schneider-Academy.
Today, we'll be sewing this chic dress.
It's important to note that the shoulder processing is very clean,
as well as the cutout.
This time, we'll be sewing a seam-sealed zipper on the back.
Every 14 days, the online apprentice receives a new video
that explains step-by-step how to do it in about 1.5 hours.
There are also cuts and insider tips from the tailor.
When I finished my apprenticeship, for example,
I wanted to work for certain companies,
and they always saw me as their competitor.
But thank God, that thought is all over now.
I think that knowledge is disappearing over time.
Most of the clothes are sewn somewhere far away,
and for us, it's about knowledge and skill.
It's also about the skill of the hands,
about how you take it in your hands.
You have to be able to do that, too.
And that's what we want to pass on to the interested parties.
Elisabeth Oberreiter from Seekirchen is one of the first.
She has already completed 28 out of a total of 52 modules.
I had a lot of aha moments again.
I learned some things at fashion school,
but it was still very exciting,
because there are a lot of processing techniques
that I don't know if I learned back then or not,
but I learned them again,
and that was a lot of fun and I liked it a lot.
And from April on, the Flachgauerin Nach der Karenz
has another job as a tailor.
The customers, 90 percent of whom are women,
mainly come from Austria and Germany.
The videos are now also offered in English and Spanish.
Very often, there are special adjustment questions
from the individual participants,
and then we always try, based on photos
that the participants send us,
to try to give tips and find out
where we can change something
so that the piece of clothing sits even better.
More than 1,000 participants are currently in the middle of the module training,
which, if you complete all the parts,
takes a total of two years and costs just over 1,000 euros.
Stefan Wimmer also wants to have the training certified,
but that is only possible if he has been on the market for two years.
See you next time!
