Today we are going to talk about the most important disease we have,
the thyroid.
I am going to tell you 6 things
that you should definitely know about your thyroid.
Of course, I am happy about your thumbs up
and also if you subscribe to my channel.
Thyroid diseases are getting worse and worse.
What are the reasons for that
and what can you do about it?
That is today's topic.
The thyroid is really the clockmaker of your body.
It controls the entire metabolism
that is going on in your body
through 3 hormones,
namely through the TSH,
through T3 and T4
and thus controls your overall health condition.
In addition, the thyroid stores iodine
and forms the so-called calcitonin,
which inhibits bone decomposition
by the incorporation of calcium and phosphate into the bones.
About half of the people in Germany
are affected by the function of the thyroid.
In the past, the head was the most common thyroid disease.
You often saw people with a thick neck.
Today, however, it is more often the subfunction,
also known as hypothyroidism.
By the way, we women are much more often affected than men,
probably due to the intake of the anti-baby pill
or the hormone replacement therapy.
Because thyroid hormones and sexual hormones are closely related,
they cause disorders,
especially in the phases of hormonal changes,
i.e. in puberty,
pregnancy,
infertility
and later also in the climacterium,
i.e. in the alternating years.
When things are bad for people,
they often don't think about the thyroid,
but rather about the psyche.
The psyche is responsible for this,
because the symptoms can be very similar,
such as mood swings, sleep disorders,
heat waves,
water retention,
and performance and weight gain.
These are the symptoms that women get.
But, as I said, it's not just women.
There are also men who have problems.
I've had some here in practice,
and that's crazy,
because men think much less about the thyroid than women.
So, if you men out there have any strange symptoms,
which I just showed,
please have your thyroid examined.
If a latent thyroid dysfunction is diagnosed,
then the cause should be found.
For example, an autoimmune disease
can be caused by this.
It's called Hashimoto.
The body's own immune system
attacks the thyroid tissue
and actually destroys it.
Then you have to look again
at the cause of the autoimmune disease
in the patient.
If you know the cause,
then go to the solution.
Now come the most important reasons,
in my opinion,
which can lead to the development
of a subfunction of the thyroid.
First of all,
it's one-sided nutrition
with a high proportion of animal foods.
Just try to reduce this proportion
or avoid it for a while.
I've already experienced incredible things
in my practice with my patients.
The second reason is vitamin D deficiency.
For God's sake,
have your vitamin D levels checked,
especially if you have these symptoms
that I mentioned earlier,
which could remind you of hypothyroidism.
Often an insufficient iodine supply
is also responsible.
We live in an iodine deficiency area
and therefore it may be
that this is simply the reason
why your thyroid doesn't work so well.
But we still live in another deficiency area,
namely in a selenium deficiency area.
And that's why you have to look
if there may be a selenium deficiency.
Yes, and if you belong to those
who take the anti-baby pill
or also a hormone replacement therapy
due to the beginning
or already in the middle
or already completed
change of year situation,
then you should definitely consider
whether you want to deal with it
in a different way.
And the sixth reason
can actually be a Q10,
which is caused by the permanent intake
of statins.
For God's sake, statins!
These are cholesterol-lowering drugs
and of course this can also be the case.
And that's why you have a high fat level
and you take a drug,
it can be a statin.
A statin prevents you
from producing Q10 yourself
and then you can have a Q10 deficiency
and it can be responsible
for a subfunction.
Back to Hashimoto's disease
and also to latent subfunctions.
In my experience,
this can be strongly influenced
by a full-fledged diet
with sufficient supplementation
of vitamin D, selenium and iodine.
Helpful, by the way,
this is perhaps something completely new,
are tight fit exercises
that you can find on our
Liebscher & Pracht YouTube channel.
It goes up here.
And especially, of course,
stretching in the neck and shoulder area
so that the blood circulation of the thyroid
is supported by the movement factor.
And now please don't laugh,
but I am convinced that singing
also links the metabolism of the thyroid.
And since singing has never been harmful,
you should start right away.
And if you think you have a beautiful voice,
then wherever you are,
and if you think, well,
my voice is not necessarily,
I need a little more training,
then you should start
every day in the shower.
Yes, that's it for today.
Thanks for watching.
