Taking the ice now and representing Estonia, here is Mikhail Zalevko.
So on the ice now, the 22-year-old from Tallinn in Estonia.
He's the three-time Estonian national champion.
This is Mikhail Zalevko.
Not the start he was looking for, just a double loop.
Quad toe. It's the same story in the short program.
Look at the shot and the attempt at the quad salchow, just a double.
Lovely triple flip, triple toe.
Into that triple axel and gets a triple toe on the end.
Should have been a triple salchow on the end of that, but just a double.
And there's the looks. Makes it look easy.
When you can see that look of dismay on his face.
He said after the short program that he didn't know what happened because he fell on the quad toe.
And he said it was really unexpected because he's so consistent with that element.
And it's happened again.
And sometimes, you know, when it happens for the first time, it just puts that seed of doubt in your head.
And then it's so difficult.
So I really feel for him. He was disappointed, obviously, for the mistake in the short program.
He said it was a bit of a wake-up call.
He managed to pull himself together and get himself through the rest of the program.
Came to Boston about a week ago to make sure he hadn't got any jet lag when it came to the championships.
But he's obviously pleased to have made it into the free.
And he's been pretty vocal about having started working with a mental performance coach or a psychologist to help him in situations like this.
And unfortunately for Michal today, the first three elements were not what he was looking for.
But he did a great job to not let anything get away from him throughout the rest of the program.
Here's that quad toe attempt.
You can see him on a lean in the air.
Left side is really wide on his check out.
He's not able to hang on to it.
Here looking at the triple axel, triple toe.
This was the first jumping pass in the second half.
Doesn't quite get through on the triple toe as much as he probably would have liked.
It's in on the cue.
And here triple lutz.
Really nicely done.
He got better as the program went along.
He's giving away a little bit of points on his final change combination spin.
He did receive a level three with a V.
That means he did not complete all three of the basic spin positions.
The camel, the sit and the upright.
And so he will receive a reduced value for that spin.
It's nothing major, but certainly we don't want to be giving away any points.
Especially in a competition that could be as tight as this.
So 143.71 or more will put him into the lead.
It just may have been one or two too many mistakes in the program.
It's going to be tough.
He needs around 140 points to be in second place.
158.86 is his season's best, so that gives you an idea of the quality of this guy.
Yeah, 140.52.
That is going to be enough.
He's fourth on the ninth.
Now second.
