New electric vehicles coming in 2026

And we're back now with our weekly series driving into the future. The electrified vehicle market is expanding now with brand new offerings heading into 2026. From SUVs to crossover hybrids, there are plenty of new options. Our Nitya Han breaks down what we can look forward to. Toyota now has an electrified option for nearly everything it makes. And the OG, the Toyota Prius, is marking its 25th anniversary in the U.S. with lots of updates. Better safety features, more power, a better fuel economy, more infotainment options, wireless configurations for your phone, music streaming. If you're a fan of the RAV4, Sienna minivan, or Camry, listen up. They are now exclusively electrified. The new Camry gets up to 51 miles to the gallon, and the price begins in the high 20s. So you can find your entry-level Camry for under $30,000 with a tremendous amount of standard features. With a hybrid, there's no charging, but a lot of power. Tremendous amount of torque from a dead stop. An electric motor is all torque. The battery in these new electrified vehicles is smaller and it's been relocated, so there's plenty of room for passengers and cargo. And nearly every electrified vehicle from Toyota now offers DC fast charging capability, meaning drivers can use the vast network of thousands of fast charging stations on the North American charging systems. So that's big news that you'll be able to charge from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes. The 2026 RAV4 is completely redesigned with a brand new look, and it comes as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. For 26, the plug-in hybrid RAV4 will get up to 50 miles, purely electric, full highway speeds, and then it will run just like a regular hybrid. Also new for 2026, the Toyota BZ, Rivian R2, the Subaru Trail Seeker, and the Kia EV4, which is a compact sedan that starts at around $36,000. Also next year, the Acura RSX will hit dealer lots.
