Ukrainian Flamingos are believed to have successfully struck the Titan-Barricades research and industrial center in Volgograd, Russia. This was reported by Russian Z-blogger and "angry patriot" Maxim Kalashnikov.
According to Kalashnikov, 12 Ukrainian missiles were flying toward the center, two of which managed to break through the air defenses and attack the strategic facility. "On the night of September 11th, [Ukrainians – ed.] attacked the Titan-Barrikady scientific and industrial center in Stalingrad. It is now part of the Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology, creator of the intercontinental solid-fuel Topol, Yars, and Bulava missiles. It is part of the Roscosmos system. Military-wise, Barrikady manufactures heavy artillery barrels and ballistic missile launchers, including Iskanders," Kalashnikov wrote. The consequences are unknown. However, there is reason to believe the damage is severe, given that the Flamingo's warhead weighs over one ton. He expressed confidence that the Russian Federation is incapable of providing any adequate response to this other than attacks on civilians. "Oh well, our bosses will retaliate by destroying a couple of hypermarkets in Ukraine. Plus, Dimon Medvedev will make another threatening statement," the Z-blogger concluded. It was also reported that Zelensky confirmed the strike on the Titan-Barrikady plant in Russia.
According to Zelenskyy, the strike on a military plant in Volgograd was carried out using Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo long-range missiles. A hit was detected on the plant's premises, causing a fire. The extent of the damage is being determined. The Titan-Barrikady plant produces various artillery systems, special equipment, and weapons. Specifically, it manufactures mobile launchers and transport-loading vehicles for the Iskander-M operational missile system, as well as launchers and ground-based launchers for the Yars and Topol-M strategic missile systems.
During Russia's war against Ukraine, the Titan-Barrikady plant significantly increased production. This was reported by The Economist. According to British journalists, signs of a strong increase in production were recorded at the plant. The attack on the Titan-Barrikady military plant in Volgograd is part of a 40-day operation by the Ukrainian Defense Forces against Russia. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the operation several days ago. It is expected that powerful strikes over the next 40 days against Russian military and strategic facilities will force dictator Vladimir Putin to end the war.
