AI GeneratedThe forecast predicts a transition from hot, humid conditions to a cooler, fall-like weekend. While isolated storms are possible today and tomorrow, a cold front arriving Thursday night will bring wind and a significant temperature drop, leading to dry and mild weather by Friday and through the weekend.
Good Wednesday morning. We're beginning today similar to yesterday.
We've got a south breeze, clouds, very warm, muggy conditions.
And like yesterday, more heat and humidity for the afternoon.
But I do think there's a slightly better chance
to have a couple more showers and storms today.
And then with our cold front tomorrow evening,
tomorrow night, that's the best rain chance we will see.
Behind that front with it moving faster, it's going to be very windy
and noticeably cooler as well as dry by the time we get to Friday.
And with the wind letting up this weekend,
for sure feeling like fall.
Those mornings a little on the cool side, even chilly in a couple
of spots. We'll show you that in a moment.
First off, let's talk about the rain chances. Yes,
we know we need it, but I don't think it's going
to be widespread this go around. Very isolated at
20% today, and I think especially south and east of the Metroplex,
best opportunity for a shower
or rumble. And then we're relatively quiet
for much of the day tomorrow. Late afternoon,
early evening, we'll look to the north
and west for those showers and storms out ahead of the
front. That's where the coverage will be highest.
And then as this front moves through, we will see
a weakening trend going through Thursday night.
But once we get to Friday morning, we are dry
and windy and really cooling off.
So we go from upper 80s and low 90s, along with that heat index
near 100 for the next couple of days, to a big drop, a high of only 70.
I've dropped it even more
for Friday. And then low to mid 70s this weekend,
looking gorgeous in the afternoon hours. The
mornings though jacket weather for a lot of us yeah getting cool
so here's the big picture high
pressure is still our main weather feature we've got
that south breeze some gusts over 20 miles an
hour possible today all of the wet weather moving through parts
of Kansas Oklahoma and out in west
Texas is going to stay there there's a stalled boundary
so we need this upper level system to
kind of clear all this out this will start moving over
the next 24 hours and get that front in here
by tomorrow night. So already seeing some showers north of I-10.
That's the activity we'll watch
come up from central Texas as the day goes
on and could bring us that low rain chance.
Mid-70s to low 80s this morning with the south breeze, lots of clouds.
That breeze continues.
We're in the mid-80s at lunchtime.
We'll see those isolated pop-ups. Could see something
along the Red River, but I still think
the better chance will be just south and east of the
Metroplex. And then low 90s this afternoon.
I don't think this model is warm enough. I mean,
hey, we hit 95 yesterday.
So I'm still going low 90s for a lot of us with the heat index.
And then we'll keep an eye on things off to the north
and west going through tonight and
into tomorrow as well.
We begin tomorrow morning a little bit cooler, so not bad.
And then in the afternoon,
a lot of those upper 80s with all eyes on this thunderstorm potential
to the west, northwest initially.
And then we have to see how things evolve
going through Thursday night.
There's your four-day and seven-day forecast. Two more very
breezy, humid days. Low rain and storm chances at 20% today.
Slightly better starting in our
northwestern counties tomorrow afternoon.
Going through tomorrow night, that front comes through
and then that north wind could have some gusts
of 40 miles an hour on Friday, ushering in
much cooler and drier air with the mornings in the low 50s
and highs in the low to mid 70s for
your weekend.
