Video Summary
AI GeneratedCentral Texas is experiencing a stretch of below-average temperatures, including a pleasant 73-degree day in Austin. While the immediate forecast remains mild and dry, a shift toward oppressive humidity and warmer temperatures is expected to begin Tuesday and persist through the following week.
Another beautiful day across central Texas.
And for the third day in a row,
we had temperatures that were below average.
We can't beat this 73 degrees current temperature,
only a three mile per hour wind. And that's out of the east.
Humidity is 31%. Pressure is falling.
Dewpoint 41. Tonight, not quite as cold.
We did have some 30s out in the hill country, by the way, this morning.
In Austin, we made it to 47. Then the high today warmed to 74.
Your average is 60 for a low and 82 for a high.
And nowhere close to that.
Close to the records, although record low of 39 degrees set in 1903,
within 8 degrees of that this morning.
Record high was actually last year, 97.
As we look at the last seven days,
notice here we had a lot of reds above average
on Sunday through Thursday of last weekend and through last week.
Then Friday, Saturday, and today, three days in a row,
we've had temperatures below average.
So we'll take that any day of the week.
At least I do.
We'll see readings tonight dropping into the 50s by 2 or 3 a.m.
We're going to have a few more clouds maybe to contend with.
And with an easterly wind, it's not as favorable to be as cold.
But it's still going
to be chilly, though, when you wake up in the morning.
Most of us will be in the 40s and 50s,
40s in the hill country, 40s outside of the city pretty much.
And it may stay above 50 degrees here, at least in the downtown area.
And then getting into low-lying areas,
you could drop into the upper 40s one more night.
Tomorrow should be warmer, not by much, but just a few degrees.
Still another A-plus day.
Should be partly sunny out there.
We've had a few showers in south Texas today
and out in far west Texas near El Paso.
So El Paso and Laredo getting most of the rain today.
Some high clouds from this disturbance
to our south, but no precipitation.
Not worried about anything here locally,
but that's where the rain is around Laredo and Cotulla,
areas south of San Antonio and towards the Gulf Coast.
Now, the rain chances the next few days, not very promising for us.
We're going to be dry, I think.
Maybe some rain out in the panhandle in Lubbock
and Amarillo for Tuesday.
But the rest of the state looks fairly dry,
with the exception of South Texas.
Brownsville may see a couple of showers.
We've been comfy today.
Nice.
Tomorrow, a little bit more humid with the southeast wind.
And we get very uncomfortable by Tuesday.
So I'm afraid we're going to get into this miserable,
oppressive humidity again,
at least for a couple of days.
and we're going to stay in the humid range all
the way through the rest of the upcoming week
so i hope you enjoyed today
while it lasts unfortunately that higher humidity won't bring
us much in the way of precipitation
and i don't have very much to show you in our forecast for
the time being so tomorrow higher humidity temperature
also a little warmer than today
got us at 79 after a morning low of 52 here
in austin keep in mind we do have some 40s out in
the hill country and away from the city for lows. And then 80s Tuesday,
Wednesday, upper 80s approaching 90 by Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
