A Russian occupier signed a contract with the Russian army after a drunken argument with a comrade who dared him. He was then attacked by Ukrainian attack drones in the North Slobozhansky area and surrendered. Of the two groups sent on the mission, he was the only survivor.

This was reported by the Army "Inform " Telegram channel. According to these reports, the Russian decided to prove his "courage" and agreed to fight against Ukraine after a friend convinced him to sign a contract during a drinking party.

The occupier's subsequent journey proved typical of those of new recruits thrown into combat missions without proper training: he was sent to the North Slobozhanske front as part of one of two groups, and this mission ended in an encounter with Ukrainian attack drones. He was the only survivor—the rest of the group perished, and he himself was captured by the Defense Forces.

There's a certain justice to this story: the very same comrade who once persuaded the prisoner to sign a contract during a drinking bout is now dead. According to the 71st Separate Airmobile Brigade, he was killed by the Defense Forces in one of the southern areas. The drunken argument is far from an isolated incident where Russians find themselves on the front lines due to a random set of circumstances rather than a conscious choice. The lack of proper training, logistics, and communications at the front lines regularly results in occupiers either dying in the first combat encounters or seeking to surrender.

The Russian army command continues to throw new recruits into missions without providing them with the basic conditions for survival, and every new captive confirms this systemic problem. For many mobilized and contract soldiers, captivity remains the only real chance to survive after they find themselves trapped on the front lines. Media previously reported that the 33rd Brigade captured five Colombian mercenaries from the Russian Federation, one of whom was persuaded to surrender by his brother, who also fought in the occupation army. We also reported that in an intercept released by the Main Intelligence Directorate, the occupier was unable to reach his position in the Slavyansk area, starved for three days, and went on a tantrum in front of his commander due to a lack of communication and supplies.
