Russian occupiers in the Hulliapole direction are accumulating forces and resources to maintain their offensive potential with the aim of advancing in the direction of Zaporizhzhia .
As noted in a message on the Telegram channel of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Forces, several combined arms armies are operating against them there, involving elite units, in particular unmanned aerial vehicles.
Thus, in the area of responsibility of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps, the enemy is accumulating armored vehicles and other heavy equipment, which it will later try to use for a breakthrough. "The enemy recently carried out its first 'test' mechanized assault. They deployed several armored vehicles and ATVs in the direction of the villages of Zheleznodorozhnoye and Gorkoye. One of the vehicles was equipped with a mine-clearing trawl," the statement reads.
However, Ukrainian servicemen from the 142nd and 154th separate mechanized brigades, the 225th separate assault regiment, the 44th separate artillery brigade, as well as related units of the Unmanned Systems Forces, stopped the advance of the occupiers, destroying enemy equipment and personnel.
"In September alone, the Russian army lost over 600 vehicles and motorcycles and about 50 armored vehicles in the Hulliapole sector. Furthermore, Ukrainian troops killed and wounded over 3,000 occupiers. This represents approximately 6.5% of all occupier losses on the front in the previous month," the 7th Air Assault Battalion emphasized.
As reported earlier, military-political observer Alexander Kovalenko expressed the opinion that Russia does not yet have sufficient forces and resources to create the preconditions for enemy infantry to penetrate Zaporizhzhia in winter.
At the same time, the American Institute for the Study of War notes that with the deterioration of weather conditions in the fall and winter, Russian occupation forces may intensify attempts to penetrate small infantry groups in the direction of Zaporizhzhia along the bottom of the former Kakhovka Reservoir. Dmitry "Perun" Filatov, commander of the 1st Separate Assault Regiment explained that, since the Russians' primary efforts in August were focused on the Dobropillya and Konstantinovka sectors, aggressor activity in the Zaporizhzhia sector was relatively low. However, even then, the Russians attempted to penetrate Ukrainian positions daily in small groups, typically consisting of two or three infantrymen. According to the military man, the greatest risks in the fall may arise in the area of the former Kakhovka Reservoir. Dense vegetation, high humidity, and fog make reconnaissance and control of the area difficult. Last year, Russian troops already took advantage of these conditions to infiltrate Primorskoye.
"We are not talking about conducting a full-scale offensive in this area, but about conducting the same infiltration operations, but in more favorable conditions," Perun explained.
The village is currently controlled by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, but attempts by Russian infantry to advance in the area continue.
